Happy Monday, everyone!
I’m hitting the ground running this morning.
With it being Father’s Day yesterday, and NOT a post office day – and since I arrived home near mid-night on Saturday night after a long flight home from California, the decision was made to make yesterday a “TIME OUT” day. Not a lot of anything was accomplished. Just a normal Sunday at home, relaxing and enjoying steaks on the grill later in the evening. Just the way a Sunday at home should be.
When I get back from any week-long trip, there is always a pile of boxes and mail waiting to be opened, looked through, and put away.
I saw the June Quilty Box at the top of the stack in the front hallway and couldn’t resist digging in! This month’s box was curated by Masako Wakayama and Lucien Fabrics. Oh, the fabulous fabric in this box!
I can hardly wait to dig in!
Hurry up! Untie the ribbon!
It’s not just a fat-quarter bundle, it’s a whole kit!
(I love the eyeglasses print!)
Everything about reading, cooking and gardening in this line!
This is Masako’s 17th American Country collection and it focuses its annual theme on life’s simple pleasures. This line offers small-scaled prints that include honeybees, mushrooms, and reading glasses, as well as a delicate color palette of pink, tan, crimson, sunflower and blue. I love these small prints!
Also included is this Wildflower Pattern --
Make the quilt with the fabric provided!
What looks like tiny applique in the border is actually fussy cut elements from this adorable panel also included in the June Quilty Box:
How cute is this?
Just as cute as Masako!
Masako makes her home in Kawasaki-shi, Kanagawa, Japan. She loves to blend traditional elements with embroidery and crochet for depth and texture. She is drawn to the American flag both for its design and history. Her personal work is dominated by the tri-color tones of red, white, and blue. The original flag was designed using quilting methods, which she considers a powerful way women were able to add their voices to that tumultuous and historic era.
Over the course of the past 3 decades Masako has carefully honed her craft and is now a world-renowned quilting expert and sought after instructor.

I love knowing that part of the proceeds go to benefit kids. To me that is a win/win all the way around!
Would you like to win this month’s Quilty Box Gift-Away??
I’d like to thank whoever sent this mystery package-
Evidently it came from me to me! LOL!
I always joke about packages coming with no return address on them- It’s no joke! And I love these neutrals – I plan on using them right away. Thank you, thank you to whoever you are!
I found out this week that my brother and sis in law are expecting son #3! It’s a boy!
There was time for this last night!
I have plans to turn those rolling stone blocks that I had inside out into a baby quilt – how fun is this! The quilt is already half done because I screwed up those blocks.
This is going to be super cute. And I have enough cut out that we can work on this during QUILT-CAM tomorrow?? 8pm Eastern? I’ll see you in Facebook Live at that time!
Quiltville Quote of the Day!
Vintage hexagon quilt shared by Debi.
Learn the art of saying no. Don't fib. Don't make excuses. Don't over-explain yourself. If it doesn't fit your life, just simply decline.
I had to remind myself of this yesterday by saying NO to MYSELF. Sometimes that’s the hardest person to say no to!

It's way too early in the Morning. I'm awake before 6am. Are those Blocks the new Alternate Block to go with your Opps BLocks you made at our PNW Retreat? Lucky #3 Boy! Thanks for a chance to WIN that Cute Fabric. Maybe I'll find some if I don't WIN along my way Row by Rowing to another Retreat this week.
Bonnie can't wait to see the opps baby quilt. I love the wrong way blocks. Thank you for the give away and congrats on the new addition that will soon arrive. Hugs :)
Great neutral fabrics!
As I learned from reading Anne Lamott... "No" is a complete sentence!
And when I say NO to things that don't make my heart sing, I am being kind and loving to myself,
which also makes it easier to be kind and loving to others :)
Maybe I'll win this time. Lovely, lovely fabric. Glad you enjoyed your day yesterday. I think when we are really busy, we need a "down" day.
The lovely fabrics in the Quilty Box took my breath away! How lucky that you already have a headstart on that boy quilt. I find it the most difficult thing to say no. Especially to my third and most troubled son. I am working on it.
Hope hope hope I am your quilty box winner (I entered above). The drawing is the day before my birthday AND I am an eyeglass wearer.
Sad to say I'm gonna miss another Quiltcam...gotta teach new sewers....and a new quilter too.Young people are loving to sew too...Hurray! I'll catch up on the archives..Have fun girls!!
I always look forward to quilt cam, sometimes life gets in the way, I'm thinking positive for tomorrow. I am fond of the just say no statement. I sort of got hooked into making two t shirt quilts recently. Never again. I will say no!
Love this month's box. Would make a great birthday surprise for me. Hope to catch quilt can tomorrow. Need to start a baby quilt for our very first grandbaby due in October. Just a little excited.
Would love to win this Quilty box. Things are rough right now. Would be a great pick me up.
Oooh, those new blocks mixed w the 'oops' blocks should be really fun.
BTW, I hope this isn't inappropriate, but the pink tunic/dress over white skinny pants that you wore on the CA trip last week was a great look on you. That outfit was a win!
My Guild just started the Quilty Box as a Door Prize and I won the June box. It is awesome. Thanks for the chance to win another one.
