Many of the “un-retired” also have today off as a holiday, and if you are amongst the masses, I wish you a lovely extra day of easing into 2017.
As for me and mine, it’s raining on the mountain, and Sadie and I are loading up and heading down to home to pack up the quilts, and fill the suitcase as I leave for my first teaching gig of 2017 tomorrow.
Rain all you want, North Carolina, this girl is headed for some Arizona sunshine!

Over the next few days, Forest Jane will be adding En Provence Items to the Quiltville Zazzle Store, just for you! You’ll find mugs, aprons, tee shirts, bumper stickers, and magnets, and whatever else she deems FUN with our En Provence logo on it. The mark up is set at the lowest level possible to keep things affordable. All of the proceeds of these items go to buying things like batting, backings, and yarn for making quilts for kids in need, and knitting or crocheting preemie hats for NICU infants. The fridge needs to be unloaded into a cooler, and trash taken out. Blinds to draw, and thermostat to turn down, as well as adjust the temp on the water heater. It will be a few weeks before we will be back up here again.
There hasn’t been a lot of activity on showing the cabin to potential buyers, but we expected that with the holidays. At least we know that everything is in place and in the spring when traffic picks up, hopefully someone will want to make this place their own mountain getaway.

A brand new year stretched out before me is the best gift of all. I'm excited over many things that will be happening in 2017 but the best decision by far was to no longer work my holidays, and spend them with my family.

Is there a mystery Monday linkup this week?
There is no Mystery Monday Link up this week, it said so in the reveal clue yesterday.
We're finally going to build a two storey oversized garage this year so that means more sewing room for me! Yeah!
I'm turning 60!!! That's exciting, considering the damage I have done to myself with my kluziness - broken bones, trips via the ambulance, three surgeries in two years, and on and on... I look forward to using up my fabric stash as best I can, making giving away quilts to children. I gave a three year old girl a doll quilt before Christmas and am thrilled with how imaginative she is in her playtime with it! Heartwarming. Happy New Year~
I'm excited about two trips we are planning to take this year. Mexico in March for a sibling reunion, Hawaii in November to see our youngest son , his sweet wife and our youngest grandson.
A family trip to Kauai this coming February! That and hopefully finding more time and desire to make more than two quilts like last year.
I keep clicking on the pic of the logo but nothing happens. Any ideas? It sure doesn't seem to open up for me.
This is the first Monday in January that I have not had to go to work! I am very thankful for the years I had a job, but now I am enjoying life and doing what I get to do...piece more quilts,love babies and travel to visit friends.

I get a new grandbaby next month, so we have a trip to Michigan planned.
I am excited to be able to quilt as much as I wish this year. After a year of not being able to see well enough to do much of anything, I feel like it has been a miracle restoration of my eyes.. Got my vision back two weeks before Christmas! Purged extra books in sewing room and cleaned out "that" closet. Watch out world, here I come!!
LOL... I kept reading the 'headline' as We GOT LEGO's... HAD to read on to find out why you would be getting lego's and were so excited about it. This year, I hope to get more quilts finished. I have a stack of tops waiting to be quilted and LOTS of fabric & patterns waiting to be started... and I just signed up for three BOMs ( haven't finished all of last year's yet - of course).
It's raining on the coast as well, headed into work.

I'm having my FIRST baby this year!!!! So trying to get some UFO's finished before June because it will be awhile before I can get back to them!
I have missed making my quilts for the last couple of years, due to an accident in 2015, so at the end of the year I asked my family what colors their homes are and what kind of decor they have, as I'm planning to make some quilts for each family, they don't know that, so It will be a surprise and I'll get back to creating and enjoying it all!
This year will get me the studio I wanted for years, and a dedicated guest room available =^}
And for more fun or whatever: solar panels on the roof and a heat pump for keeping the house warm in winter time.... in stead of old gas heaters at the end of their lifetime.

Doing a humanitarian trip this summer. Nothing makes you feel better than than seeing the joy on the faces of people you serve. It's a two-fer. They feel good, you feel good!! Happy 2017!!!
I live in AZ and there hasn't been much sunshine in the last few days as cooler, rainy weather either comes down from Canada or across CA :( Hopefully, the sun will return with you being here. Safe travels.
Happy New Year, Bonnie! I plan to visit my Boyfriend 350 miles away in January, then go see my family up in Michigan in June!! I want to finish a few of the quilt tops I've already made. Grand Illusion, 5 - Hole-In-The-Walls, and 1 - zig zag quilt (all tops, waiting)!! I just got done working a LOT of overtime over Christmas that is going to make 2017 happy!! Take care!! Happy New Year from North Las Vegas, NV Bonnie! Thanks so much for your MQ En Provence. I have been enjoying working on the clues. My plan now that I am retired to to use up my stash & this quilt got me started. I need to figure out a way to better organize all the parts now.
We have an RV so we hope to get out in it this winter & summer. Try close to home first & then try to drive it back home to Ohio this summer!

I'm teaching at the college this year for a new challenge... hope I like it!
I'm teaching a new yoga class, and I start tomorrow! Yoga and quilts are by 2 favorite things.
We will be building our last home this year. I'm excited to be getting a 20 x16 sewing/craft studio.

Looking forward to visiting a high school friend in Phoeix, Arizona in February. Haven't seen her (and her husband) since our 50th class reunion two and 1/2 years ago! Also looking forward to making En Provence. Haven't started yet but I will soon :-)
In just a few days, I'm heading to Switzerland. Even though it's for work, I will have a few days to explore, shop & enjoy. This is my first trip overseas and the first stamp on my brand new passport!
And just this morning I finished my miniature En Provence quilt top. The sandwiching, quilting and binding will have to wait to later this month. Feels good to have a project already mostly done by Jan 2, 2017!
I love being retired! Quilt-wise I plan to finish En Provence (half size) and Razzle Dazzle (also half size for a baby) this month. Travel wise I am going to Denver to visit a friend in March; to. Sisters quilt show in July; to Scotland with my husband in September. Plus a quilt retreat in February and October and a quilt camp in April. Whew, busier than when I workrd. :)
Today is a good sewing day. It's -10F with snow on the ground. DH is away all day and the cats are sleeping. LOL

After two orthopedic surgeries this year, I am looking forward to getting my new knee to work and getting back to my much loved walks and quilting. One more to go, looking forward to being done!
I'm headed to Texas, to see my son, daughter-in-law, mother, inlaws, brothers family and BFF of 40 years. YES, I'm excited. I get to see all of them again, next Christmas, but, hubby will be with me then. Have a great time in Arizona.
I'm excited because I learned that I will become a great-grandmother for the first time in August! :)
I'm looking forward to gifting my entire provence quilt to my daughter for her birthday in May. And to making a tobacco road quilt for my son, who is turning 50 this month. 😀

I'm from Alaska and am looking forward to traveling in Ireland/Scotland/England for 3 weeks in May followed by the birth of my 2nd grand-baby in SoCal in June. Hoping to finish a couple of UFOs in 2017.
Hopefully will completely finish En Provence with batting, backing, quilting, and binding. my very first mystery quilt! Possibly travel to Colorado on vacation with my two grown boys for a family vacation in the fall. Finish the quilt I started for my mother-in-law 2 years before she passed away. Sandwich and quilt the tops I made for my oldest and youngest when they were children and make a new one to replace the one my middle child loved to rags! Enjoy the first whole year of retirement!

I'm looking forward to a wonderful 2017 where I don't fall over and damage myself! Did both a wrist and hip within 6 months which put me out of action for a while. But by September, I will be able to walk properly, and not snore so much for when I got to Iceland with my sister (positive thinking going on there - will also need to lose some weight to get back into my snow weather clothes). I've downloaded the En Provence quilt instructions, which I like very much, but I'm afraid it will have to wait a little while as I have two baby quilts on the go, then another one to do after that - THEN my girlfriend has asked for two kid's quilts. And FINALLY after I finish that I'll be able to get back to my foundation pieced Empire Place quilt which is just for me - only got about 2/3 to go, not a problem. I don't understand how people who quilt have time to go to work. Wishing you a very Happy & Peaceful New Year from Down Under.

I am excited to have joined an online group that has a monthly UFO Challenge. I am hoping to get more sewing done this way, things actually completed. It forces me to sit down and sew. I am excited to be doing En Provence Mystery, and really look forward to finishing it and having it on my bed!

Where it is colder than normal!
I am moving back home near my youngest granddaughter.
Looking forward to getting a stem cell transplant to keep my Multiple Myeloma in remission. And being well enough to sew and work in garden.
Looking forward to the improvements that will be made by the board in our HOA where I live. I'm on the board and several improvements have begun. It is exciting times for our adult community.
I am looking forward to getting proficient with the LongArm I got as a pre-retirement (if that ever happens which I doubt) gift. I am also President of the Guild (LSHQG) in Sulphur Springs TX, and look forward to an exciting journey
My grand daughter is getting married in April and her wedding quilt is already made!! Whoopee!!.
My niece marries in April. I'll be with family two times in 2017!
My grandson graduates from high school and my granddaughter is expecting second baby in June. Another granddaughter is engaged and they may get married in 2017.
My son is getting married in May, and I get 3 grandsons out of the deal! I also just ordered a double wedding ring quilt kit that I will be working on from the minute it arrives at my door!
I'll be 50 later this year! And I'll be making the last college tuition payment for my daughter.
I will be finishing MY strippy quilt this year, I hope. But the most exciting thing for me will be the marriage of my oldest son. Love.
