I’ve been seeing loads of this around and it brings a smile!

I love pumpkin season!

So this is on the front burner for me today:

pumpkins

Pumpkin time!

I was actually up at 4-something-am this morning.  I couldn’t sleep.  And I found out why.  My calendar was off by a day and I was sweating bullets thinking I was getting home from Delaware on Thursday and leaving for the Caribbean cruise on Friday.  NOPE!  My schedule is drive up tomorrow, workshop Monday, lecture Monday evening, and workshop Tuesday, so I will get home WEDNESDAY and have Thursday to catch up and pack. SO MUCH BETTER.

Once that was sorted out and my mind wasn’t in a panic anymore I was able to pull these out, start counting.  I also did some trimming.  I’m nearly half way to where I need to be.  So guess what I’ll be working on today? [note: no pattern available, this is a project for the NEXT book!]

Today there WILL be a nap.

Do you like to work on seasonally-inspired projects?  I love autumn and I’m so glad it’s here!

I really hope I'm chosen for this Quilty Box giveaway! I would love to try French General and this box looks awesome. I really love your string pumpkins with the black background. I would love to try some too but I have very little orange fabric. It must be nice to have a large selection of each color to choose from!

Sigh, wish I could convince DH to go on a cruise with you. He loves cruises but he says NOT a quilt one. Was thinking if I could talk my quilt friend to go and her hubby come, we could dump the guys together......... Mary Ann

First I would like to send you and your family condolences for the loss of your cousin. I so enjoy the antique mall pictures whenever you post them. All of my grandmothers remaining quilts are in my home and these old well loved and used quilts remind me of her. Hurrah for new patterns. I will be ordering them shortly. I wanted to take time to thank you so much for tips and instruction regarding seam allowance and cutting tips. My accuracy has gone up two hundred percent. Most of all I want to thank you for getting me interested in sewing and collecting vintage sewing machines. Last I'd like to share something I recently discovered while cutting the quarter square triangles for my first leader/ender challenge. I am using the speciality rulers you recommend until I can get one of your all in one tools. I found that leaving fabric (or previously cut pieces) on the cutting surface under these tools significantly increase your accuracy by leveling the ruler. You probably all ready know this but I wanted to share in case you didn't. I even put some fabric above my strip in addition to leaving cut pieces to the left of my strip. Because of your tips on cutting, sewing on vintage single stitch machines and all these great patterns I can now piece all those scrappy multi-piece quilt blocks that I used to avoid. Thanks. I love the comment best!

Yesterday Rick found a piece of fabric a little bigger than a dog ear and asked if it should be saved. I said toss it. He looked at me startled and said "Bonnie could make a whole quilt out of this!!! I laughed.

Rick so "gets it". I've brought home 2 vintage machines in rapid succession a just serviced Singer 128 followed me home from my LQS and then I ran into a Guild member at the same LQS who wanted to sell a Featherweight 222. LUCKY, lucky me.

Now I roll my eyes when someone asks how many machines I have.

Safe travels and Bon Voyage.

After reading your message to the Yahoo group I came by to check things out and enter the give away-thank you for the chance to win some French General! How do you ever keep up with all of us in these various formats? You must have a checklist. :) But mostly-I'm so excited it is only a bit more than a month away from Mystery Season! My friend Kathy and I are holding off on new projects until then, but then, Katy bar the door!
