Sisters that sew together stay together!
I was so happy to meet these lovely ladies yesterday. It seems they have enough sisters, daughters, cousins, and other women in the family that quilt that they pull together a retreat as often as they can for all of the women to get together and quilt up a storm.
Doesn’t that just sound SO GREAT!?
I have two younger sisters that are busy with small children and I would love to get them into quilting so that we could do something along the same lines.
When we gather together like this, our hands may be cutting and pinning and stitching and pressing, but what I see with the laughter and the conversations are relationships being formed, strengthened, nurtured and a whole lot of memories being made in the process.
Quilting is the WHOLE package! Heart, mind, body and soul!
And I love the mother/daughter duos that come!
Michelle and her mom, ,Jan who came from California.
Can’t you tell this pair is related? Look at those smiles!
(And matching 301s too!)
Our workshop yesterday was My Blue Heaven. But we weren’t limited to BLUE! You’ll find green and pink and purple, red and even multi colored collages of triangles, squares, stars and hourglass units.
These ladies were so hard at it! Check out this activity!
And of course, we worked up a powerful hunger which the church kitchen staff took care of at every turn.
We’d like a table for 56 for lunch, please!
53 students plus me and helpers!

Grilled cheese sandwiches and homemade soup! Brownie and ice cream for dessert! We were spoiled rotten and so appreciate of the effort made on our behalf. Quilting is an exhausting business, and we needed to keep our strength up!
Chair too short? Check out THIS solution!
I am missing you ladies already!
You’ll find the rest of our day in the slide show below. Enjoy!

My Sister and I made Quilts together for our Nieces and Nephews back when I didn't know how to really QUILT. It was fun. I only have one Sister. She comes home next week from her Mission in SLC. I cant wait to have her closer again. Gotta get her Quilting. Quilting on my Allietare finally. Hope to have it done before you get home from your Cruise. Be safe out on the Ocean!
I have a sister, a step-sister, 2 sisters-in-law, and 4 adult nieces. Of these onlu one sister-in-law has any interest in quilting (she came on the Italy trip last year) but the rest do appreciate quilts l make. Thankfully l have many friends who enjoy quilting as much as l do!
I love the slideshows of your workshops, they always inspire me!
