In the Studio, Day 2!

20160810_080709_001
Another day in the studio at the Quiltmaker offices in Golden, Colorado!

We had just a few segments to record, a bunch of promos and teasers to shoot – and that was really fun!  They had me laughing so hard!

I really love this crew, they are so great to work with!

It is always amazing how “seamless” it looks once all of the editing has happened and all of the bloopers are trimmed out, but during the video shooting itself?

I can’t tell you the number of times I tripped over my own tongue and had to start over again.  And again!  And….yes….again!

We had to switch out backdrop quilts at one point so here you see studio crew taking care of business while I watched from the bullpen area.

It’s a tough job, but someone tall has gotta do it!

Adjusting things just right with the camera.

And THIS is what keeps me smiling the whole time!

There is a mustache and googly eyes on the cameras! It’s hard not to laugh when you are talking to the camera!

We finished EVERYTHING by lunch time!  Cut!  And that’s a wrap!

And it was a wrap for lunch as Jimmy John’s was brought in and I wolfed down My #5 unwich with much abandon.  Whew!  We did it!

For those asking, this new series will begin to air in November, and it will be under the new Craft U streaming format, so you can start the course at any time, you can watch it as many times as you want, and it will live in the cloud forever so you can access it any time you like.  SO happy about this new format!

In fact we brainstormed a few promotional ideas, and I will be running some give-aways for some free webinars and courses!  Whoowhoooo!  That will be coming soon, so stay tuned.

Driving out to Boulder!

Since I had use of a rental car and an afternoon/evening on my hands I headed out to Boulder to do some exploring around Pearl Street!  It was a beautiful drive…just look at this mountains!  It’s August here in the high desert, and all of the grass has gone golden, and the colors and contrast are just a delight for the eyes.

I absolutely LOVED wandering the historic area of Pearl Street –including a stop into Ben & Jerry’s for my favorite – 2 scoops of Chunky Monkey in a cup, enjoyed while I ambled around people watching.

My dad went to college in Boulder in 1958. I had never been here, so it was really great to experience it. I talked to him on the phone while I was walking around asking him what he remembered. Did he remember the court house? Yes! Did he remember the movie theater? Yes! I took pictures to share with him
The perfect end to a great experience in Colorado all around!

It’s time for this girl to get home.  Time is so so short and there is still so much that has to happen before I am ready for our flight to Barcelona on Tuesday!  Oh, goodness!

And yes, the binding is now ON Spanish Rose and I’ll be doing the hand stitching all the way home…

Quiltville Quote of the Day!

This is surely true of the folks in the Studio this week – they brought out the best in me, and left the stressed in me far outside the door.  Thanks again for everything, Quiltmaker Magazine and Craft U!

Have a lovely Thursday, everyone!

Congratulations on your new course. Now that CraftU has changed the format to be more like the craftsy format of on demand streaming I will certainly consider the courses now.

Sounds like a terrific time was had by all! Happy that it wasn't stressful for you. Those mountains are gorgeous--puts me in mind of my "Delectable Mountains" project languishing in a box--from your pattern--hmmm must get going on that now...thanks for sharing your experience. hugs, Julierose

I'm glad to hear about the format change too. I got distracted from one of their courses, and had only downloaded supply lists, and was not permitted to get back in unless I paid for the whole thing again.

I'm glad the trip was so successful after getting off to such a rocky start. :)

Your clothes look really pretty. As someone like me, who lives in jeans, it's nice to have some dressy/comfortables hanging in the closet because you never know when you're going to need them!

It is Friday and thanks Bonnie for showing pictures of the town. We used to fly in and ski in winter at Purgatory. We have only seen everything in snow yearly. Wishing you a great trip back home. Happy Quilting and wishing you a great trip to Spain.
