Quiltmaker’s 100 blocks Vol 12!

100blocks_12
Another day, another drawing time!

This time we are drawing for TWO lucky winners – one who will receive a copy of 100 blocks by 100 designers, Vol 12 directly from the offices of Quiltmaker Magazine, and a second who will receive a signed copy from me along with a free Strip Lash pattern by Gudrun Erla of GE Designs AND a Kona charm pack in neutral solids!

This must be a popular giveaway because I think we raised the roof on this one – 1353 of you are vying to be winners and the competition is tough!

It’s a good thing that we are not judging this based on entries!

Thank heavens for the lovely little random number generator who pulls the numbers for us!

I hope it doesn’t have a melt down with this one!

Some good good goodies up for grabs!

And here we go:

Thank you everyone for your participation and making this so fun.  There will be more giveaway opportunities shortly.  I’ve got plans!  Yes I do!

There has been a whole lot of this going on around here today!

12249966_10153753916233909_3532110540095599035_n

And it ended up like this!

Top DONE!

There were some questions on the borders and sashings.  I stitched everything to phone book pages for stability and removed the paper after trimming to size.  Yes, pieces are stretchy but I handle them carefully and stay stitched around the outside of the top to prevent seams from popping open and minimize the stretch while quilting.  Easing is my friend!  And it is so worth the extra effort..not to mention how worth it it is to use up all of these narrow strips of neutrals that have been mushrooming everywhere!

Next up –finding a backing, and I’ve already got in mind a perfect piece as long as there is enough yardage in it!

Happy Sunday Eve, everyone!

Love the quilt. Looks like I have enough scraps to do it. I am doing a t-shirt quilt; I have the front done and am working on the back which is t-shirts also. Grandson gets this one.

Really like the quilt - congrats on a finish. The teal around the 4 patches is perfect and the beige strings is the perfect sashing and border.

BONNIE: I LOVE the colors! Those borders turned out marvelous!

I hope I can find the new 100 Blocks, VOL 12. They did not have it at the store when I looked the other day. I hope they get it soon, but I have a couple other places to check, too, since I was not one of the lucky winners. Thank You so much for the chance to win these wonderful gifts. I call them gifts, because if we win, we do not have to pay for them!

You are the Greatest!

I too really like this quilt the teal is just perfect. Maybe when you talk about picking the backing you can tell us what your plans are for this pattern. Also, I do not have the String Fling book, so I wonder if the method you used for all the border piecing in this quilt is discussed in the String Fling book. Does this quilt have a name?

Bonnie, the string border is just perfect for this quilt. Great job--again! :)
