Hot off the Quiltmaker Press!

qmg

**NOTE** This drawing has ended!  Congrats to our lucky winner!!

Look what arrived in my mail box yesterday!

Soon to hit a news stand near you, it’s the September/October 2015 issue of Quiltmaker Magazine!

Here we are in the heat of the summer and the magazine cover is promising cooler temperatures WITH 14  quilts for cooler days- right around the color.

Beautiful quilts in autumn tones as well as some others that will just knock your socks off.

Take a look at what I found inside:

20150722_234140

I LOVE THIS!
The Original Thirteen, designed and made by Ellie Scrimsher.

20150722_234345

Perfect for Off to College!

Quilted Memories, designed and made by Paula Stoddard.

And what do we have here?

20150722_234208

THIS is what I have been working so had toward!

Turning the pages of the issue, and seeing this page for the first time got me so excited!  All plans are in place, I’ve even got myself a rental car – and was told to get a manicure upon arrival.  Oh yes, I will obey!  This is happening so soon.  I’ll be dropping my quilts and supplies off at Fed Ex on Sunday so they will be headed to Golden, Colorado while I go attend to things in Iowa before arriving in Golden myself!

Of course, I always turn the pages to see which issue they’ve decided will work best with what I’ve sent in for my Addicted to Scraps Column:

20150722_234408

Criss Cross Stars up on deck this issue!

You will have fun digging into your scraps for this one –it’s Jelly Roll Friendly!

Magazines are still the very best value when it comes to quilt patterns and inspiration.  This issue includes 14 designs, each bound to insire.  You are going to love it!

20150723_064814

So here I am offering up a fun little giveaway.  I am going to send a copy of the September/October issue of Quiltmaker Magazine, along with a Flannel Fat Quarter Four Pack ((Yummy and so soft!)) to ONE lucky winner who leaves me a comment below in the comments section AND leaves their email address in their comment.

Leave me a comment below.  LEAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS.  No exceptions.  There must be an email address for you to win if I draw your name.  Don’t assume it is attached to your profile, because likely it is not.  No address, and I draw someone else, okay?

And while you are at it, let me know what you look forward to when fall is around the corner!  When you think of September/October --what comes to mind? What's a favorite! I want to know!

I’m leaving this open until Sunday Evening!  We’ll let the Random Number Generator do it’s magic in deciding who our lucky winner will be!

Wonderful giveaway. In the fall I look forward to weeds that start slowing down (so I can catch up) here in north Florida, and the cooler weather that means more snuggling with my cats and our quilts. I start thinking about meals like chili and stews and things I don't make in summer because it's too warm t heat up the kitchen for long. But this fall is special since it's my first fall after retiring. So much to look forward to!!

This is a challenge for me! I am not a fan of fall with its shortening days; however, I strained my brain and I do love all natural fibers. Though a North Carolina native, I adore wearing woolen clothing! It warms like no other and breathes with you. I also have felted wool and will be attempting patchwork this winter with my felted stash. So there IS a great reason to bring on fall! Goodness that makes me feel better about the whole thing. Patterns look great in that edition of the magazine! Being a summer-love, I don't look forward to it ending. However, September means that it's time for me to head down to North Carolina for Miatas in Boone - a gathering of Miata owners who love to drive the twisty roads down your way!

I would love winning the magazine. I enjoy reading all your blog entries. I just finished binding a "Scrappy Trips" quilt. I love it. Thanks for all the inspiration you are to all of us. Wish I could see you in Iowa this weekend. I live in Iowa, but too far away.
