Hot off the Quiltmaker Press!

qmg

**NOTE** This drawing has ended!  Congrats to our lucky winner!!

Look what arrived in my mail box yesterday!

Soon to hit a news stand near you, it’s the September/October 2015 issue of Quiltmaker Magazine!

Here we are in the heat of the summer and the magazine cover is promising cooler temperatures WITH 14  quilts for cooler days- right around the color.

Beautiful quilts in autumn tones as well as some others that will just knock your socks off.

Take a look at what I found inside:

20150722_234140

I LOVE THIS!
The Original Thirteen, designed and made by Ellie Scrimsher.

20150722_234345

Perfect for Off to College!

Quilted Memories, designed and made by Paula Stoddard.

And what do we have here?

20150722_234208

THIS is what I have been working so had toward!

Turning the pages of the issue, and seeing this page for the first time got me so excited!  All plans are in place, I’ve even got myself a rental car – and was told to get a manicure upon arrival.  Oh yes, I will obey!  This is happening so soon.  I’ll be dropping my quilts and supplies off at Fed Ex on Sunday so they will be headed to Golden, Colorado while I go attend to things in Iowa before arriving in Golden myself!

Of course, I always turn the pages to see which issue they’ve decided will work best with what I’ve sent in for my Addicted to Scraps Column:

20150722_234408

Criss Cross Stars up on deck this issue!

You will have fun digging into your scraps for this one –it’s Jelly Roll Friendly!

Magazines are still the very best value when it comes to quilt patterns and inspiration.  This issue includes 14 designs, each bound to insire.  You are going to love it!

20150723_064814

So here I am offering up a fun little giveaway.  I am going to send a copy of the September/October issue of Quiltmaker Magazine, along with a Flannel Fat Quarter Four Pack ((Yummy and so soft!)) to ONE lucky winner who leaves me a comment below in the comments section AND leaves their email address in their comment.

Leave me a comment below.  LEAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS.  No exceptions.  There must be an email address for you to win if I draw your name.  Don’t assume it is attached to your profile, because likely it is not.  No address, and I draw someone else, okay?

And while you are at it, let me know what you look forward to when fall is around the corner!  When you think of September/October --what comes to mind? What's a favorite! I want to know!

I’m leaving this open until Sunday Evening!  We’ll let the Random Number Generator do it’s magic in deciding who our lucky winner will be!

When I think of September and October, my mind rushes to the scents in the air. Scents that remind me summer is going, cooler weather is pushing in, and my body and mind start to move toward indoor projects. jojo -- threadartist4@gmail.com

I'm not sure about fall....that just means winter is coming. But wait!!! Now I live in Florida....winter is a nice joke...no snow, not much cold....maybe I'll have to wear long pants and socks a few times, but mostly Florida winters keep me smiling. Fall still has flowers in bloom, lots of warm sunny days, and the beaches are mainly free of tourists.

I'm liking your criss-cross star.

I soooo wish you could come to Canada without worries at the border. I try to keep informed of your travels and perhaps I can visit you somewhere close by.

Bonnie: Your continued inspiration will get me through my scraps. My favorite fall celebration is Halloween, orange, lime green and black. For years once my kids were old enough to notice, like 2 we started decorating our house to the hilt. Huge cobwebs, headless people, a guillotine, grave yard with head stones, coffins, me the witch. Quite a few times we scared the bigebbers out of kids and parents. Now that my kids are adults they are carrying on the traditions at there homes. Back 30 years ago all the props were made by hand.
Have a great week,

I work in a physician's office and we start noticing the changing addresses just after Labor Day. I use hand sewing and hand quilting to destress from my job. I have worked in this field for 25 years, and 21 in this practice. Love my job, love quilting, and adore your posts.

I like the fall because of the color leaf change here in Leavenworth Wash. Halloween is my favorite holiday to decorate for and I always sign up for that month's quilt meeting night. We usually get dress up!One night Margaret came as the strip lady! covered in 2.5" strips! Another year she was the Black Hole in black clothing having notions attached to her as if magnetic. We love Quiltmaker magazine!quiltnrobin@nwi.net

I love the color. The trees are ablaze with color. I love the falling leaves. The noise they make as the cool, crisp breeze blows them across your yard. I also love the smell of burning leaves. It signals the time to get in your kitchen and enjoy all those comfort foods. The smell of apple pie and cinnamon. Fresh bread in the oven. I could go on and on. Can you tell it's my favorite season!
