Hot off the Quiltmaker Press!

qmg

**NOTE** This drawing has ended!  Congrats to our lucky winner!!

Look what arrived in my mail box yesterday!

Soon to hit a news stand near you, it’s the September/October 2015 issue of Quiltmaker Magazine!

Here we are in the heat of the summer and the magazine cover is promising cooler temperatures WITH 14  quilts for cooler days- right around the color.

Beautiful quilts in autumn tones as well as some others that will just knock your socks off.

Take a look at what I found inside:

20150722_234140

I LOVE THIS!
The Original Thirteen, designed and made by Ellie Scrimsher.

20150722_234345

Perfect for Off to College!

Quilted Memories, designed and made by Paula Stoddard.

And what do we have here?

20150722_234208

THIS is what I have been working so had toward!

Turning the pages of the issue, and seeing this page for the first time got me so excited!  All plans are in place, I’ve even got myself a rental car – and was told to get a manicure upon arrival.  Oh yes, I will obey!  This is happening so soon.  I’ll be dropping my quilts and supplies off at Fed Ex on Sunday so they will be headed to Golden, Colorado while I go attend to things in Iowa before arriving in Golden myself!

Of course, I always turn the pages to see which issue they’ve decided will work best with what I’ve sent in for my Addicted to Scraps Column:

20150722_234408

Criss Cross Stars up on deck this issue!

You will have fun digging into your scraps for this one –it’s Jelly Roll Friendly!

Magazines are still the very best value when it comes to quilt patterns and inspiration.  This issue includes 14 designs, each bound to insire.  You are going to love it!

20150723_064814

So here I am offering up a fun little giveaway.  I am going to send a copy of the September/October issue of Quiltmaker Magazine, along with a Flannel Fat Quarter Four Pack ((Yummy and so soft!)) to ONE lucky winner who leaves me a comment below in the comments section AND leaves their email address in their comment.

Leave me a comment below.  LEAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS.  No exceptions.  There must be an email address for you to win if I draw your name.  Don’t assume it is attached to your profile, because likely it is not.  No address, and I draw someone else, okay?

And while you are at it, let me know what you look forward to when fall is around the corner!  When you think of September/October --what comes to mind? What's a favorite! I want to know!

I’m leaving this open until Sunday Evening!  We’ll let the Random Number Generator do it’s magic in deciding who our lucky winner will be!

I look forward to cooler temperatures and snuggling under my quilts, instead of being so hot that I don't want any covers. The fall brings out my soup making gene too. Suddenly it feels like a big pot of 13 bean soup is the right thing to make. Love my summer produce, but it's been so hot this year I'm already ready for all. Kathy6024@comcast.net

It would be so nice to win and not have to travel from store to store trying to find this issue. Our local drug store that carried Quiltmaker, their supplier had a fire in the warehouse and they decided not to reopen. So they're trying to find a new supplier and I'm traveling all over the county trying to keep up with my Quiltmaker magazines. UGH! Laura V.

Hi Bonnie,
The first thing I think about when I think of Fall is Quilt Retreat at Zephar Point, Lake Tahoe, Nevada. I look forward to a relaxing week of sewing after a very long, hot, busy summer in Sacramento. The kids are back in school and this is my time to get back to what I like to do most.
I enjoy reading your blog every day following what you are up to. Thank you for all your generous advice and techniques! I finally know exactly how to organize my massive amount of scraps!!! I'm currently working on my Boxy Star quilt and Tumblers Leaders and Enders quilt.
I'm looking forward to the upcoming issue of QM magazine and your new book. My email address is dgpalmersew@aol.com

Fall is the riot of beautiful colours, the feel of a favorite sweater, the smell of a huge pile of leaves ready to jump into, the sound of the birds gathering and heading south, and the taste of a juicy apple (or pumpkin pie). Hi Bonnie, September is a great month. Both my husband and myself have our birthdays. Three of our 4 kids go to school again, giving me a routine I like and this september I will start a trainingprogram to regain my walking abilities. Yes, it will be hard work, but I have high hopes it will pay of. Quiltwise I hope to work on a red and white quilt for my husband, as he mentioned just the other day that was a nice colorcombination. Never before has he done that, so I'm really motivated to oblige. I really enjoy your blog, learn a lot watching quiltcam and wish you well in all your travels and work. sandrarobben@hotmail.com

There so many beautiful colors to look forward to in the fall. This year is special-we are celebrating our 50th anniversary with an outdoor Mass followed by dinner for 150 close relatives; all have to travel at least 2.5 hours to attend. That said, it will have to be one "awesome" shindig. No pressure there! Best part is seeing everyone, especially the 29 children under 10!

Thanks so much for the giveaway and looking forward to viewing your demonstrations on line.

I look forward to cooler weather after our hot and humid South Carolina summer.....along with the cool weather comes the scent of tea olive blooming in Charleston. My children are still in school, so back to school shopping is still a necessary ritual at our house. I love to buy MYSELF a new composition notebook (college rule)... And usually want a new pen to go with it...I love new school supplies. (No, I am not a teacher!) this new issue of Quiltmaker looks great! Jspwarren at aol.com.
