Hot off the Quiltmaker Press!

qmg

**NOTE** This drawing has ended!  Congrats to our lucky winner!!

Look what arrived in my mail box yesterday!

Soon to hit a news stand near you, it’s the September/October 2015 issue of Quiltmaker Magazine!

Here we are in the heat of the summer and the magazine cover is promising cooler temperatures WITH 14  quilts for cooler days- right around the color.

Beautiful quilts in autumn tones as well as some others that will just knock your socks off.

Take a look at what I found inside:

20150722_234140

I LOVE THIS!
The Original Thirteen, designed and made by Ellie Scrimsher.

20150722_234345

Perfect for Off to College!

Quilted Memories, designed and made by Paula Stoddard.

And what do we have here?

20150722_234208

THIS is what I have been working so had toward!

Turning the pages of the issue, and seeing this page for the first time got me so excited!  All plans are in place, I’ve even got myself a rental car – and was told to get a manicure upon arrival.  Oh yes, I will obey!  This is happening so soon.  I’ll be dropping my quilts and supplies off at Fed Ex on Sunday so they will be headed to Golden, Colorado while I go attend to things in Iowa before arriving in Golden myself!

Of course, I always turn the pages to see which issue they’ve decided will work best with what I’ve sent in for my Addicted to Scraps Column:

20150722_234408

Criss Cross Stars up on deck this issue!

You will have fun digging into your scraps for this one –it’s Jelly Roll Friendly!

Magazines are still the very best value when it comes to quilt patterns and inspiration.  This issue includes 14 designs, each bound to insire.  You are going to love it!

20150723_064814

So here I am offering up a fun little giveaway.  I am going to send a copy of the September/October issue of Quiltmaker Magazine, along with a Flannel Fat Quarter Four Pack ((Yummy and so soft!)) to ONE lucky winner who leaves me a comment below in the comments section AND leaves their email address in their comment.

Leave me a comment below.  LEAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS.  No exceptions.  There must be an email address for you to win if I draw your name.  Don’t assume it is attached to your profile, because likely it is not.  No address, and I draw someone else, okay?

And while you are at it, let me know what you look forward to when fall is around the corner!  When you think of September/October --what comes to mind? What's a favorite! I want to know!

I’m leaving this open until Sunday Evening!  We’ll let the Random Number Generator do it’s magic in deciding who our lucky winner will be!

Lovely, giveaway. I can use some inspiration for my next quilt, I've just finished one and my head is buzzing trying to decide on my next one. One with lots of small pieces that takes a long time to complete, I love the process and like to take time to enjoy the piecing.

Hi, Bonnie! As a newbie in this awesome quilting world, I want you to know how much I enjoy being a fly on the wall during your quilt cam sessions. Last night was wonderful. I'm looking forward to getting into my quilting projects this fall. Right now I'm recovering from my second knee replacement surgery four months after the first one. Both my knees are getting stronger, but I just can't get my sewing area set up like I want it. Meanwhile, I read your blog posts daily and grab the magazines for ideas. Now there is so much I want to do, I won't know where to begin. Hope I win this QuiltMaker magazine contest. Thanks for making quilting such fun.

At this time of year I usually look forward to the apple harvest and all the yummy apple butter and juices I can make. But, this summer has been unusually cold, and there does not seem to be much crop at all. A Quiltmaker magazine would take my mind off the cold weather and everything which that leads to, and make me occupied with making your beautiful stars.

Besides the leaf peeping opportunities, wine tours to the vineyards in the area, and farmer markets full of the earth's bounty, the cooler temperatures of fall let me quilt without feeling guilty for not being outside in the warmer weather. I have a TON of projects set aside for fall weather but right now am enjoying a glorious summer!! Thanks for the opportunity to win a copy of this magazine!! Linda H at Canends@Hotmail.com

Yes, magazines are a great source of quilt ideas. Love being able to get out to walk a bit later in the day once the heat has started to decrease.

Thank you for the sweet giveaway. Fall is my favorite season. There is something special in the air...a coolness, a hope? ...I don't know but it always stirs my heart and soul even here on the CA central coast where the trees don't change color.

Thank you for all you do for us quilters Bonnie!! I enjoy quilt cams when I have the time to watch them and I look forward to reading your blog everyday. I am in beautiful Southeast Minnesota and my favorite part of fall is the beautiful colors of the leaves changing and driving around the area to look at them; but not so much the season after that.

Hi Bonnie,

The new issue of the magazine looks great! The flannel does too! When fall comes I look forward to really fresh crisp apples.

I watched quilt cam live for the first time in months last night. While I was finishing knitting a scarf, seeing you make the string sashings made me want to do some strings soon. I almost used up all my strings, though, so I might have to wait a while.
