Girls being silly!
This is what it’s all about, isn’t it?
The last time we were all together was this past June when I was up in Central Oregon visiting Randy before heading to Portland to teach.
And now seven months later we carry on where we left off!
Sitting around the table talking we figure that we have known each other close to 20 years now.
Where does the time go?
It went to raising kids, all of the joys, many of the upheavals, all of them held together with needle and thread and fabric.
And here we are now, mothers of grown children who have made their way as adults.
Life long friendships are so priceless!
So much laughter!
Never ever ever grow up!
And always always always share the fabric!
Mona joined us this afternoon!
And she has started on project #2 as a new quilter…string blocks! And in just a few hours she had pieced this:
Looking great, Mona!
Randy’s 25 patch in progress!
Lori’s Jewel Box!
And my scrappy 4 patches!
This is my jump-start for the APQ Quilt-Along posted about earlier last week! Want to know more? Check out Moda Lisaa’s blog post HERE for more info. Three projects to choose from, each using a different size of 4 patch. All 3 patterns included in the April issue, available on news stands on February 3rd ---coming soon!
What will YOU make with YOUR 4 patches?!

You look like you are all having way too much fun! I can imagine what it must be like. I have my annual retreat with 10 quilting buddies coming up in February. There's just nothing like it! Best friends, good food, wild stories and our sewing machines running nonstop! Enjoy!
Have a great time and keep posting pictures ... it's almost like being there with you!! Loving those projects and I have also been making some string blocks ... addictive!! Have been trying to piece some of those 25 patch blocks like Randy is doing ... that quilt she made is BEAUTIFUL!! Linda
Have a wonderful time sewing with your Friends, Bonnie. I looked at the quilt a long, and know which quilt I want to make with four patches! Just what I don't need, another project; but who can resist? I am glad you all made it there safe and sound!
Cherish those friendships. You never know when one of them can be taken from you with little warning.
Oh yes, quilters never grow up...too much,. We have to keep a child's wonder of color, and love to play with fabric pieces/scraps!
Looked like a super group.
Smiles, JulieinTN
You have no idea how much I would love to be there with you guys... I need a break from 8th graders :)
