Oh my….as I’m getting ready to set up this post I notice I am wearing the same shirt as in this photo. Do I have time to do a shirt change? LOL
Maybe you are like me, and when things are casual at home you just grab whatever is folded at the top of the clean pile…at least it’s clean, right?

Hi Bonnie,Summers are busy and we grab what quilting time we can where we can. I know it’s been that way for ME this summer, probably for you too. There are veggies in the garden ready for preserving, kids getting ready to go back to school and all that entails…we long for longer nights and shorter days and more time to sit and relax with needle and thread.
after a 2 weeks camping holiday and a full week of work since Monday I finally have time this Saturday to watch your latest quilt cam from the archives.
Time to hand quilt while listening to you chatting away, how relaxing!

I’m making some progress on my Carolina Chain blocks. The block pattern is from a previous Quiltmaker Magazine Addicted to Scraps column.
A whole stack! But not quite yet half way.
I’ve brought out my blue 1950’s Brother machine!

Because “Into everyone’s life some trolls must fall!!” Or something like that!
This beige/blue calico!
I have a story about this fabric…I was 20 when I bought it. I used it in a “quilt as you go” Log Cabin for one of my first bed-sized quilts. It was with that quilt that I learned that “quilt as you go” is not as easy as it looks as I was wrestling with thick poly batting-- because in 1982 I thought that quilts should be as thick as comforters.
BOY, did I learn a lot on that project! Like…I’ve NEVER done “quilt as you go” ever ever ever again!

But I smile every time I see that beige calico with the blue roses and remember. I think this is the LAST of that fabric. I cringe to think what this fabric knows about ME!

Working on the Twin Sister blocks Leaders and Enders to make a quilt for my twin. The pattern shown on the website for the quilt shows setting triangles. Can they be half blocks I don't sew together?

Having fun watching quilt cam tonight while I stitch row 31 of 44 rows on my hand pieced Barn Raising quilt. It will have nearly 2000 21/2" squares. Getting close. Thanks for sharing so much with the quilting community.

Good Evening Bonnie, so thankful to be sewing with you tonight, I am working on the never ending scrappy star, and I started a new quilt tonight with all of the crumbs I have saved.
I am making 5 1/2 inch crumb blocks and loving it so far, as my leaders & enders for the scrappy stars. You are so right about getting 3/4 of the way thru and wanting to quit, but I am sticking to it no matter how old and tiring this project is getting.
I have also made a couple of your blocks that you are working on, but cannot seem to get the right measurement. So I will just buy the book, LOL
I have so enjoyed looking at all of the photos you have posted from your trip and the cabin.

LOL! I am surprised that you still kept on quilting after trying a quilt as you go with the poly batting from back in the day! :) I had made a serger quilt as you go with that same thick poly batting back then also. Looked good and was nice and warm, but boy did it wear out fast at the seams! NEVER AGAIN!

I smiled when I saw the troll fabric because I think it is from some squares I gave you on the Caribbean cruise I took with you a few years ago. It's fun to see you use it in a quilt!
Stitching star blocks tonight. Quarters are done , halves almost done. Next up are full ones. Have one done so I know how it looks and which way to press the seams.

But not tonight ! tonight I am hand sewing a binding on a top that has been done for way too long as I watch/listen !Also really like your hair at that length ,was it a difficult decision to cut it ?Once again thanks for all you do .The motivation is priceless ! 284I just finished a scrappy trips baby quilt out of men's plaid and striped shirts for a guy/family that DH works with. Love those plaids! Another guy/family is having a baby, another boy, so using more of those strips to make another.

I used that same troll fabric in the quilt I made for my Mother about 10 years ago. Quilt name 7 trolls and some smurfs. Yes smurfs and other things in that one. I used all kinds of fabric and made a nine patch. If the fabric was not big enough I sewed two together to make the block. No plan just use the fabric.
She has used it every since. I have learned a lot since then but she is my Mom and loves me and I sure love her.
Che ridere Bonnie. Anche io per la mia prima trapunta ho utilizzato una imbottitura molto alta e non ti dico cosa è stato per me trapuntarla a mano!!!! Poi ho capito che le trapunte sono dei copriletti.....e allora tutto è cambiato.
