I’m a COVER GIRL!
I tried to find a larger digital image, but this was the only one I found….
But still – it’s my FIRST Quiltmaker Cover!
This past New Years, I taught this quilt, Wanderlust, as a mystery at Fabric Fanatics in Plano, Texas.
My students had to pinkie-swear that they would keep their quilts to themselves until the quilt appeared in the magazine –
Guess what, girls? You can now blog and twitter and facebook and instagram and flickr about your Wanderlust quilts all you want! Whoowhooo!
Wanderlust!
Oh, by the way, you may recognize this block as “Jelly Bean Blast” from 100 blocks by 100 designers, volume 7. I loved this block and couldn't wait to get it into a real quilt!
I used batiks, recycled neutrals, print neutrals and a whole bunch of a black tone on tone to make those colors sing.
As soon as the issues show up on my doorstep, I’ll be having a giveaway for this issue! In the mean time, be watching for it at a news stand near you within the next couple of weeks--
I’m on my way home this morning, flying from Boise to Chicago to Greensboro ---my own bed will be waiting for me tonight.
Bye bye, Idaho – it’s been a great holiday weekend!
Time making memories at mom’s little house in the mountains – priceless!

Congratulations - The quilt looks GREAT!
Wandering thru your website I wondered if you ever thiught of making sashings as leader/ ender projects. Lots of books on borders and scrap quilts, but not much on sashing and many scrappy quilts need just the right sashing to set off the design. Many of your quilts use sashing as a basic design element......so you've already done a lot of the work.
Fly safe and thank you for all you do.
Bonnie - I can HARDLY WAIT to get my magazine and start on this BEAUTY!!! I saw the post that Quiltmaker did about Wanderlust first thing this morning before I saw your blog post! LOVE LOVE LOVE. I biggie sized your Jelly Bean Blast for a baby quilt. I'm going to LOVE making this one. You Rock Quilt Lady!

I love the quilt! ! Wow, I need to find room on my to-do list. A lot of free time would also help! I have 46 of my pineapple blossom blocks completed .
I have been looking for a quilt for my leaders/Enders, can't wait to see this one in the magazine! Congratulations.

You are a beautiful cover and the quilt is lovely, too! Can't wait to get my magazine in the mail. Keep up the great work.
Congratulations on making the front cover. I am amazed at all your travelling. As I live in the UK I really don't have much idea of the distances involved in your travels except to know they are huge! So I just did a bit of Googling and realised that your journey today alone was in excess of 2,000 miles. Have you ever worked out what you clock up in an average year? Or even how far have you travelled so far in 2014? Sleep well in your own bed!
What a fabulous quilt. Glad I have a digital subscription; I was able to check out over breakfast.
UGH!!! Adding another quilt to my list .... stop designing so many pretties!!!

My copy came last week and it didn't surprise me when I looked at the cover that it was your block! All that wonderful scrappiness! I just wish the magazine would print the directions Bonnie style instead of traditional 7/8s thing.
