Bonnie,Thanks for archiving quilt cam broadcasts ! I got a lot done in a quick 90mins than I expected to all day! I'm going to school and working full time so I sew at odd times just to get it in.
These things were put together while watching the 9/14 quilt cam:) the stars were from scraps...
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!Nadia in San Diego
Most of us sew in fits and starts and small moments, don't we? That's what I'm hoping Quilt-Cam does for you -- gives you a REASON to push for an hour or so of stitching time you normally would let pass by.
How much can YOU get done during Quilt-Cam?? Test yourself and see!
I tell you what, if it weren’t for Quilt-Cam, my quilting studio would not get shoveled out near as often as it does. It has helped me keep my space a lot neater and more organized.
But it hadn’t been vacuumed in a while and, well, I, uh…you know?
I thought I’d “DUST” off a linty machine with the vacuum hose ----and….
OOPS!
That dang vacuum hose sucked the spool pin doily right off my machine! LOL!
Never fear, it’s been retrieved and is now ready to roll on top of a machine I really haven’t sewn on since acquiring it a few months back.
This is a Viking Husqvarna model 12!
I haven’t had any luck dating her, but she is a very strange shade of green in the crinkle/godzilla finish. I’m thinking late 40’s through the 50s.
I’ve cleaned her up a bit….there are some other areas that are going to need more detailing..but there wasn’t time ---Her bobbin winder needs tweaking….the wheel turns, but the bobbin doesn’t wind. Will have to work on that. I wound her a bobbin on the Janome!
I’m working on more Square-in-a-square cornerstones tonight. I need half a gazillion more and I haven’t touched them since the last Quilt-Cam session.
So let’s sew! What are you working on?

Hi Bonnie! Thanks for Quilt Cam. What brand glue stick are you using?
Hi Bonnie.....working on 160 hidden star blocks with you tonight sewing on my birthday featherweight! Great to see you tonight =)
Hey Bonnie. Working on a braided quilt out of batiks and the 2013 leaders/enders challenge. It's a two-fer evening! Janet in Spokane WA
Just sorting through papers on my desk and watching ... no quilting stuff tonight ... need to get some of this paperwork OUT of my life! LOL Linda
Hi Bonnie. So excited for Quilt Cam! I'm working on Virginia Bound for a Christmas present for my brother-in-law for next year. I'm headed back to Michigan for Christmas next year, and I want to have a quilt for everybody. So I'm starting early. I don't have a copier, so quilt cam is helping with the tedium of making all of the paper-piecing templates by hand.

Hello Bonnie!! So glad to see you. We are having a 3 day retreat in Pigeon Forge this week and having a wonderful time. Many discussions about your scrap system and your wonderful quilt patterns today!
Evening Bonnie :D Enjoying Quilt-Cam this evening, I'm listening while working on making a pattern for a Breast Cancer Ribbon. Plan on using the Lil' Twister to make it up for a raffle. Hope it comes out, this is my first time using the Lil' Twister. I'll let you know how it turns out.
Hi Bonnie! I'm joining you from Guelph, Ontario ( yes - you pronounce it correctly - GWELF - the sound of a quarter being dropped into a toilet - gwelf) I'm piecing backs tonight - - recently I took a tip from you, and pulled out all my hunter greens and country blues from my stash and pieced backs - I have six quilts I need to get done in the next two months in time to present at the December meeting of the local quilt guild. I'm both overjoyed and horrified by the prospect!
Bonnie, I'm on the road on business, but I'm doing bead embroidery for an advent calendar quilt I'm donating to my church! Becky currently in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Hi Bonnie
Great that quilt cam is on during the day for us here in Australia. I am putting together some Christmas table toppers while I watch and listen. Do you have any idea when you might be releasing the supply list for your next mystery quilt?
Hi, Bonnie: I'm joining in for about an hour, before I have to go out again! I'm busy sorting through 5 garbage bags of fabric I was gifted yesterday, and plan on sharing with some friends. I can't wait to see what is in there. PS: I made my first Maverick Star this weekend - love it! Any tips on how to place the triangles so I'm not short all the time ;o)
I'm making some binding tonight for my "Jared Takes a Wife". I am almost finished; just a little more quilting in the borders to be done. Great project!
Hi Bonnie - This is the first time I have watched one of your Quilt Cams. I have recently found your blog and I am so glad I did!!! Thanks for sharing all of your expertise with a newbie quilter like me.
Hi Bonnie! It's Mary Sauers from Lincoln, Nebraska. Joining you for the first time for a whole quilt-cam session. I caught the tail-end of one a few months ago. I'm just making 4-patches from the 2 1/2 inch scrap bin tonight ;will decide what to do with them later.
Working on applique birdhouse blocks. They are for a swap with some wonderful quilting friends
Hi Bonnie
Working away on my blocks from Alaska....I am over half way! It was so wonderful meeting you and Dave!
How does the name, Nordic Nora sound?
Am working on herringbone blocks for hype Bricks in the Barnyard class I took from you in January in a McKinney, TX. Two of four are done.
You could name her Olive Oyl. Enjoyed meeting you in Dallas and going to the glass gallery and Blue Mesa, even though we had to yell to be heard!
Hi Bonnie! I finally get to watch you on Quilt-Cam!! I love it! You are coming to our Guild in 2015 and I can hardly wait!!

Took time to get some of my pull-outs from magazines stashed to holders and sorted to their notebooks. All the "Bonnie" things are now in one binder and am working on getting the holiday patterns pulled and into their own binder. Then will do the star patterns and strippy patterns into their own binders. (what am I doing??? organizing?? I mus t be sick!! :) )
When you say a little dab of glue, it reminds me of an OOOOLD commercial for Brylcream. A little dab will do ya!

Cutting out more 6.5" blocks to sew later. Thanks for QuiltCam to keep me company until the Voice and NCIS starts in the Pacific Northwest.
Working on Sister's Choice using 9 patches from quilt club exchange!!!
I had to giggle, I posted a name for her "Nordic Nora" earlier and then you said the same name ... :D
Still cutting out strips from your workshop in Springfield. My question is how do you figure out the yardage for your scrap quilts. Nelda
Your on the small screen here: watching via cell phone. Still fun! Really enjoy watching you however I can. Thank you for doing quilt cam.

Bonnie, you might be able to prepare some of the Thanksgiving Feast ahead of time. In Canada we always had Turnip (rutabaga) and carrot together for special meals. We just peeled and boiled them all in the same pot then mashed them with butter as you would mashed potatoes. I'm sure it would work with just rutabagas. That could easily be made ahead of time and just nuked or heated in a casserole dish in the oven.

For thanksgiving, if you have one, take a Roaster Oven to the cabin. I pull mine out every year for Thanksgiving and Christmas :D

BON APPETIT!!
I always made creamed onions by buying a bag of frozen pearl onions (i did try a little bag of bag red onions once..much more work) and added a can of cream of mushroom soup. (leftovers would be good in turkey soup :)
Yeah! It just might stick too! :) How fun we thought of it together
great idea, thank you!
Missed Quilt Cam tonight--thank goodness I can catch you in the archives! It was worth missing, though, because I am now the proud owner of a wonderful little Featherweight from 1951. It's a 221J which I think is less common; on top of that it's black, which I think is very uncommon for the "J" model. Does anyone here know for sure? My research has turned up conflicting information. Anyway, can't wait to catch up on the archived Quilt Cam.
I also have a great Turnip casserole recipe. It comes from the "United Church of Canada" cookbook on page 50. I have quadrupled the recipe and used it for feeding 50+ ppl! Everyone loved it!You can make it ahead and freeze it..........then just defrost it and bake it the day of! It's so easy and so good! You could easily do the turnip/carrot combination too. Thanks for the suggestion Lori. I have done that before, and love it, but this time I'm gonna do it in the casserole too :)
Thanks for Quilt-Cam time, Bonnie! I watched while sewing borders on my Orca Bay...it's been in the to-do bin way too long. Enjoy your cabin time. You know I'm jealous!
love those little blocks; have finished my scrappy strings and put sashings on each block--BUT--to me it looks "BLAH"! Aw shucks--am thinking it needs a rest and fresh eyes...but it was a fun project...onto more paper piecing...thanks for the tips...hugs, Julierose

today I LUCKED OUT. My "new" guild had quilt camp that I could attend. THey brought in the sewing machine mechanic Barry who has worked on my Featherweight before. Now I ADORE this machine. And there he was and able to tune up my portable baby. THe local B shop wants me to leave it for 3 weeks while they get to it. Snd I got the borders on my Neice Melissa's new baby quilt.
