iPhone-o-Gram! Feet on the treadle!

This is our projected weather! Beautiful with more chances of autumn perfection in the forecast!

I moved the treadle machine back out to the patio after lunch---the clouds are Amazing!

Feet on the pedal, right foot just ahead of left, working the pedal like a teeter-totter, the movement soothing and slow paced.

Days like this are for relishing, not rushing through!

Sadie agrees as she soaks up the afternoon sun in the yard!

Nothing I can show you yet as I am working on our November mystery--but blocks are coming together and I am so excited to see how this is coming together.

A design on paper or a computer screen is one thing, but seeing it in the selections of fabrics I have chosen, oh yes--this is good!

Yardage requirements mid-October! That deadline keeps me focused, and with that I put this phone post away and get back to it!

Love from the Blue Ridge!

What a tease!! We will just have to wait! I loved the pic of Sadie in the car with the quilt in the background. The cheddar sashing brings together so nicely the scrappy blocks. Thank you for the inspiration!

Still don't get the two foot treadling. I need a video. I can treadle with my right foot, but adding the left just doesn't seem to work. I must be doing something wrong. OR I am not in the right place, and need to be in the mountains treadling at a cabin!

Definitely need to be in the mountains! Treadle On web site has videos of how to work the feet-mine seem to just naturally fall into place with right knee acting as brake on large fly wheel! Probably in a previous life.....

We love that part of the country and hope to retire there. I am excited about the November mystery! Last year "easy street" was my first ever and I had so much fun doing it! However, this year I will be printing each step and watching the link ups as I will be in a hard cast for several weeks and con not sew :(. Thanks for all you do for us! I will get on it as soon as I can and am sure love every single stitch!

First, I can't wait for the next mystery. I have only made the previous ones in my imagination. This one will be my first and I can't wait.
Secondly, I don't know how you sew on your treadle. I have my great-grandmothers and every time I try to use it, I can only go backwards. I never have had much rhythm. :)

Enjoy your weekend. It is sunny and warm here in Britain too. Lovely to have the summer extended and be able to do some gardening. Bev

I covet your outside sewing. Maybe I can do that in Florida, say.....maybe by the end of December? :) I've got my fabrics pulled and ready for the next mystery.

If anyone deserves a day of treadling in beauty it is you! I am so glad you got a chance to just slow down and stitch! :)

Kim, you press forward on the right foot and then press on the bottom of the pedal with left foot, then top of pedal with right, then bottom of thepedal with the left. The pdal has to go up and down.....the up is with the right foot and down is with the left foot. You develop a rhythm to it. It's like driving a stick shift though. You can read how to do it, someone can explain it tto you and show you, you can practice, but all of a sudden in the midst of it all, you will get it. Keep trying! It's so worth it!
