Oh my gosh I am all excited! Becky’s tractor is GPS guided..and she lives in Eastern Washington State – nary a tree to worry about!
So what does she do? Uses her old Wilcox & Gibbs hand crank to sew string blocks on top of phone book paper foundations while she drives tractor! There is no idle time for this Quilter/Farmer!
Becky, you are my hero!

A few things come to mind after watching this video. The first is, it's mighty bleak out there in the middle of that field. Secondly, aren't you glad that Becky has an enclosed, air conditioned cab to sit in? Did you see all that dust she was kicking up? Thirdly, I learned a new word - rodweeder. Lastly, grizzly old farm lady hands? We, as women, are always ragging on our bodies. As a cancer survivor, I think I can say, be nice to our bodies. If they are healthy and getting us through our daily tasks, they are golden! Thanks for the video. It was great!
Beautiful video!!! Beautiful hands, Becky! I have a treadle Wilcox and Gibbs and they are such fun to sew with. Almost silent in operation and they do such fine work. I think her sewing machine and her tractor are equally excellent! Thanks for sharing this one - it's a feel good!
The credits said Becky...just sitting there. Well, not hardly. That is multi-tasking at it's best! I love how the vintage uses the modern technology to it's best advantage. Becky, you are now my inspiration. Those hands are sure doing there share, nothing much more beautiful than that!

Well, this seems to be more successful than my friend who tried to knit on the treadmill. That did not end so well!

Hmm, wonder if that was Becky on the tractor last spring I saw going across one of the amazing stretches of field in our fine state. Will make me wonder now every time I see a tractor if it's Becky inside. Way to go girl. You definitely rock.
Now the next step is to make a sewing machine that has a GPS. So we can multi-task while it takes care of the sewing on its own.

so jelous! I'd love to have a job where I could sew and earn a living at the same time. I guess running a farm doesn't leave you with all the time to sew that you would like, multitasking is the way . Love it.

I used to have a customer who would hand piece in the cab while her dump truck was being loaded.
So much for little grey haired ladies sitting quilting.

In Norway in older times, the girls was knitting when going to summer place with the cattle, but this was a new dimension.

Just catching up on the blog - I love this video. Never underestimate the ingenuity of women! She should get together and swap stories with the quilt teacher, Augusta Cole - she power walks and sews hexies at the same time and sews a few seams while her car is warming up in the winter!

Gosh folks...I'm speechless!! My internet was blown out for over 16 hours last night when a huge thunderstorm came through, so it wasn't until 9:30 this morning that I learned Bonnie had put my little video up on her site!! :-D The response has been overwhelming!! As a fellow farm gal and aspiring quilter, I have to say I've wondered how I get get away with multitasking like this in the tractor! Way to go! That's farmer ingenuity right there!

Love it! Sadly, our land is too lumpy for GPS guided farming.
