Along The Water’s Edge --

I am probably the only person who would come to Ireland and take home a SUNBURN!

Up until today the weather has been unseasonably warm and sunny for this country ---Temps reached about 80 and sunny hot on Saturday.  I know there are those of you in other climates, but this is UNUSUAL for here when we packed for rainy temps in the mid 50s.

We started our day out, loading our luggage on to the bus and leaving Galway after a hearty breakfast at our hotel.  This is ONE happy group of troopers, ready to hit the open road and explore all that makes Ireland Ireland!

Roads are fairly narrower than what we are used to…what happens when two buses need to pass each other?  Someone yells “SUCK IT IN!!” And we hold our breath to see if we will make it without a scratch or not…

This is how close we got to another bus, and I took a pic through the window!

Careful, Paddy!!

It cracks me up how our driver, Noel, will call EVERYONE Paddy in his terrific Irish brogue!  I guess it’s the same as us calling some unknown guy “Hey Joe!”

If you peek in the rearview mirror you will see our driver, Noel maneuvering our big bus up the Irish countryside on our way to the Cliffs of Moher.

But first…we follow the coastline and travel through an area known as the Burren ---

We are BUS 2!!
Be sure to be back on the bus at the time given or you may find yourself having to pay a fine of fat quarters!

There are a lot of photos of castle remains, of a stone school house, of nature, flora and fauna ---and I’m putting everything in a slide show for you to view.  The slide show below includes the fabulous Cliffs of Moher, so be sure to watch all the way to the end.

And of course I have to share this one because we are having a ball!

If you can’t view the slide show on your mobile device, click the image below to visit the photo album directly.

Thank you so much for the wonderful take-me-along tour! Especially appreciated is the picture of Eleanor Burns with you, my two quilting heroines. I watched her show on TV (we had no internet then) when I was first married and fell in love with quilting. Both of you taught me that I COULD do it. Thank you to you both!
