Sweet Cabin, Dream Cabin!

My heart is full.

Our offer has been accepted on the cabin in the mountains ---

We have worked so very hard for so very long to make this happen. It’s been a lot of sacrificed hours to make this dream come true!

The sellers are very eager to close quickly and would like to close by the end of June.

This is going to happen quickly!

I should be spending the 4th of July holiday in my new cabin, spending time with my family and quilting away in between!

cabin 033

The rockers are on the upper porch ---

The double doors you see on the bottom open from the sewing area to a view of the blue ridge  mountains and the parkway:

cabin 009

The same double doors are also on the upper deck level, where I stood to take this photo.  That fence....will be mine!

It is coming mostly furnished!  ((Yes, porch rockers included!!))

The only thing I will need is a toothbrush – and a sewing machine!

And some girlfriends to sew with.

Any takers?!

Be sure to like our Quiltville Friends Page on Facebook for more fun!

It too, am very happy for you. You work so hard and now there is a place to rest easy away from it "all". The best thing seems to be the rockers that come with the deal! Ready to rock.

Lakegaldonna said...

Wow, you two did it! Congrats to you both. It does look roomy enough for a few folks to be sewing together. I would love to join you sometime. We have the two houses also. Remember I told you I had to mark my rotary cutters North and one South? Ha ha, the duplication of household items and more importantly SEWING items as you go back and forth. Hopefully you get to spend many days there and not just for retreats. You need some Bonnie and DH time, (with sewing of course!). Wow, wow, wow.

When we move here 15 years ago to East TN near the Smokey Mountains on top of the mountain so I could see mountains when I sew. So grab your sewing machine and enjoy watching the snowflakes fall, leaves change and the budding of new life. Maybe if you have a retreat I will leave my mountain to visit yours. Enjoy!

Congrats on the 2nd home and the life experiences you'll have there! Too funny...last November we started looking for a 2nd home in the sun for the winter months and found it in April. We negotiated back and forth, finally came to an agreement. They wanted to keep the furnishings so we were looking forward to furnishing it in the fall. The day after we got home from finding the house I found out I need major surgery before the end of the year and it will be a year recovery. I'm bummed. But I will enjoy your new home experiences and quilt vicariously through you (your wonderful blog!) until I can have them for myself.

Congratulations!
What a beautiful place as a personal quilt retreat!
If you ever need company, I'll volunteer. My sewing machine, fabric, etc. can be quickly packed at a moments notice. :)
In the meantime, enjoy the fruits of your labors.

Congratulations, Bonnie! You could fill that cabin 365 days a year with quilters who would love to sew with you.

I just finished sewing the binding on my Roll Roll Cotton Boll sitting in a rocker on a porch looking at those mountains. What a beautiful place to kick back and relax. I'm so happy for you!

Wonderful! We had a 1920's farmhouse in the Ozark mtns. of north Arkansas for 6 years. We got it put on the National Register of Historic Places while we owned it. We sold it in Jan. I know how excited you are! I'll come and sew on your porch with you anytime. I'll even bring my The Free brand treadle! LOL!

Bonnie,

Congratulations, I am so happy you have found just the right mountain home for you and your family. I know you will spend many happy days there.

I hope you have an open house at your new mountain home. Where is it? DH and I are spending next week in a cabin in the West Jefferson area as we do every year about this time. I love the mountains.

Hey, I am available for a quilting event if you have one.

We just returned from 8 days on the Blue Ridge Parkway in our little Airstream, in Boone at a campsite, Blowing Rock, and traveling through the Mt. Rogers National Forest in Grayson County, Virginia where I raised my two oldest kids, and then on to the Smokies, camping. I surely miss those beautiful mountains and am so happy that you finally found the perfect place!!

Oh massive congratulations to you!! I just love those rockers! I love to sit in a rocker & quilt or knit or snooze, nothing better in my books. That view will keep you entertained for years to come.
I am sure if you opened the doors as a B&B you would be booked for the next few lifetimes. Maybe you could employ an assistant to handle the bookings LOL. No seriously, that sounds like a good retirement fund idea. I bet you could find an agency that would take care of everything for you & you just reap the rewards. It's a thought?
Glad to see you won't have to wait too long to enjoy your new space. I know you will love it & share that with us all.
Cheers
