Smith Mountain Morning, Augusta, ME!

As I was going over these photographs, one by one last night…cropping, editing, resizing, saving –I did so with a huge smile on my face.

We had such the perfect day…..with one of the highlights being lunch out on the lawn, picnic style, in the fresh 63 degree sunshine of a Sunday afternoon in May in Maine.

It could have not been more perfect!

We were completely full to the gills with 40 machines busy stitching away.  Our attendees came from as far away as Canada and Massachusetts…and those who were unfamiliar with one another at the time class started, found themselves with new friends by the end of the day.

The ladies got SO MUCH DONE!  I know you will like the slide show….take a look at all the different color schemes and all the different fabrics!  ((And a whole lot of silliness!))

If you are unable to view the slide show from your mobile device, click the photo below to be taken directly to the photo album.

And most of all, ENJOY!
Smith Mt Morning, Augusta ME 2013
My flight this morning is not so early ---thank heavens! The airport shuttle will take me at 8:30am for my 10:15am flight.

I should be back in North Carolina by 3:00pm if all goes well!

Wow, those ladies sure did get a lot done! All great colors, and some really surprising choices. Love them all! You must be exhausted after teaching such big groups, but it looks like everyone had a great time. Travel safely today.

I don't know how you get so many photos while still teaching, leading, encouraging, etc. Recently a friend of mine gave a workshop at a local quilt shop. I volunteered to take the photos. That was my only job and I managed to get just a relative handful of photos. Love the slideshow. Especially interesting is the lady with the featherweight with a wooden worktable made to fit it.

Beautiful blocks. I love the secondary pattern that emerges with the alternate block. Love your scraps!

Loved all the variety of color choices! I'm working away on Winston Ways from the Portland Block Party and making the four patches for Midnight Flight (leaders and enders) as I piece the blocks! You've created a new habit for me!

Bonnie, Had such a great time at both classes. It is such a joy to learn from someone who enjoys teaching as much as you do.
You just make it so much fun. Was expecting to be exhausted after such a busy week-end, but you filled me with such energy. I just want to keep on sewing. But I have laundry and a house to clean, so sewing will have to wait, at least til this afternoon when I go quilting with my friends. Can't wait til the Alaska Cruise. Ramona from Maine. Lunchtime was great outside.

Bright red and lime green? Oh, my! I love the multiplicity of colors and patterns. And that custom wooden surround/extension for what I think was an antique straight-stitch machine is stunning. I have never taken a quilt class, but this may inspire me to sign up for one. Thanks for posting these photos.

I had to go back and look also. Looks like she may be very handy or have a handy husband. What a good idea.
