Tulips, Tulips Tulips!

Strings, crumbs, strips and pieces --- all with memories attached!

We spent the day yesterday in Cypress ---our Tulip Fields class was held in a very large wonderful classroom found at Quiltworks Quilt shop – a WONDERFUL shop with something for everyone!

There were several different color ways coming together for this quilt, and it is so fun to watch what other folks put together.  I love seeing the wheels turn.  I love watching them making choices and do things “their way” --- or even better….pushing themselves in directions they’ve never gone before.

This is Jill ---and she was working with purples and hot pinks…….isn’t this going to be a fabulous quilt?

Tulip Fields is found in my book String Fling and is one of my favorites of all the quilts in the book!

While traveling I gathered scraps and pieces from student's throw-aways and in the evenings would stitch them into the string blocks that became the tulip bases....so many memories in these blocks!

EVERYONE did a fabulous job – take a look:

I’m off to Indianapolis this morning…..via CHARLOTTE!

Yes, because I’m flying USair –I have to fly to the nearest hub before being transferred to Indy – which means….I have a layover 80 miles from my home before flying to my destination.  Oh the wonders of air travel!

Hexies are planned ----I’m packed up and ready to roll!  Big thanks are going out to the  Baytown and Tri-County guilds for a fabulous visit!

Don't be surprised if you're delayed getting into Indianapolis- lots of snow around Indiana this morning!
I love those tulips. Makes me think spring will eventually come!

Oh sad, sad, me - I cannot VIEW your lovely slide show without "signing in" to"MSN something or other". I'm using Chrome, and Windows XP which worked just fine up to a few days ago. Wah, wah, wahhhhh! Any suggestions from anyone???. Even clicking on a photo does not work either. 8-(

That msn thing has been plaguing me too. Sorry I can't look at the slideshows anymore. I love looking at everyone's sewing machine.

Hi Sue. It's Lisa and I'm the one in the picture with Bonnie and Jill. I was wearing a scarf that can be made by crocheting with a large hook or even made by hand--starting with a slip stitch and pushing a loop of yarn through the hole and repeating for the entire skein. It was made with Red Heart Sashay yarn and was so quick. It ends up about six yards long and you just tie the ends together and then make a number of loops of varying lengths and put it on. I watched an online tutorial for it, but can't add the link right now. If you look and can't find it, please speak up and I'll come back and look again for the link.

Try again later. I couldn't view the slideshow this morning either but now at 9:17 pm California time it is just fine. Can't figure out what makes it be ok sometimes and not others. Neither can Bonnie- So just keep trying! K-
