iPhone-o-Gram! It's coming home!

I ran out to run some errands – and found myself driving past the antique mall where the wonderful North Carolina quilt was found last week –

Would it still be there?

I had to run in and see –

Yes! There it is!

I open the folds to inspected further – it is every bit as wonderful as I remembered, with the addition of another label plainly visible on the back corner.

How did I miss this one? The label reads Walkertown Mills!

Walkertown is even closer to me than Winston-Salem.

This quilt is such a rich example of North Carolina history, I am definitely not leaving it behind again – this will be coming home! :-)

somehow I knew you would adopt it :)

There is something to be said about those thick cotton quilts that can't be said in 15 stitches per inch. I have two and they are truly wonderful. So comfy and so heavy and warm. I love the different vertical and horizontal sashing colors on your find. Be well. Lane

Good girl!~
They aren't making them anymore... In a few short years you are going to see fewer and fewer.

Bonnie: You might need a 12-step program.

You did good. Isn't it amazing how certain quilts stay on our minds, until they join us at the house!

I'm sure it was meant to live the rest of it's life with you!

Is that a stamp on a feedsack that was used for a back? I'm glad it was still there waiting for you. I would have bought it, too. Lois

So glad it was still there for you. When something stays on my mind after the fact, that is a pretty good sign to me that it is supposed to be mine.

I am hoping for the same good luck on a Featherweight I saw on craigslist the other day. The person who got there first is supposed to pick it up today, if not ... it's mine!!!!!!

Yeah, take 12 steps away from the quilt, turn around and walk 12 steps back to go get it!! Works the same for vintage sewing machines.

I'm happy to see the quilting stitches on that quilt. Definitely "git 'er done" style. But it kept someone warm and cozy many nights, just like it was supposed to--a noble quilt. Thanks for sharing, Bonnie.

It was meant to be. If the hubster dont like it, he can do the errand running, and leave you safely in your studio...lol

She may need a 12 step program for sewing machines.... one can never have too many quilts.

I knew it! You at least waited to be "sure." It will have a loving home.

That's awesome,! I love local quilts. We have a very early 1900s friendship quilt with names of early Lewisville families embroidered on it.

Yay! I love those old quilts. I am still kicking myself for not buying one I fell in love with over a year ago. It was gorgeous and plainly told me it wanted to come home with me and I didn't listen.
