Pfeffernüsse are little brown Cookies we bake over here at Christmas time! The ingrediants are sugar, flour, butter, brown sirup, cream and a variety of spices:to give the right Christmas taste!!!
Wish I was in America. Everything here in Australia shuts down till February. I could have an amazing te sewing with Bonnie and the girls. Happy New Year.
Pepernoten! Yep, with Sinterklaas we want Pepernoten! They tend to creep down in time even to the end of September, and Sinterklaas is only the 5th December! But delightfull, even two kinds of them, crispy ones, small, round, and something like dumplings, about 1 inch and kind'a hooky and soft =^} Its like gingerbread men, only a bit smaller. Happy New Year to all of you! (Fireworks are booming the last weeks already, but for now it's pouring rain and not quite nice to light the "Howling Kitchen Help" LOL!) Be healthy, live a life driven by curiosity, but drive carefully! Love to the world for the coming 2013, from a very rainy and quite stormy Amsterdam! Irene
Notice the "pfeffer" in Pfeffernuesse. That would be pepper in English, as in black pepper. Literal translation is "pepper nuts" and peppery they are. They are not kidding when they say they are spicy.
Look at all thosew strings and strips. Wonderful. I struggled with the strings doing RRCB (which isn't done) but just tried again and I loved every minute of it. I have been saving my 'strings' so I will be busy doing more projects with them. Thanks Bonnie and Happy New Year.
Such a great time was had by all. Fun to share strings and stories. Going back for more tomorrow!! What better way to end 2012 with Bonnie and to start 2013 with her too!! Such a blessing she is to us that love her and her scrappy ways. Happy New Year to everyone.
