Oh goodness!
I made the mistake of running to the post office when they re-opened after lunch at 12:30 – stood in a long line, and stood and stood….
I just arrived back home and then realized I didn’t have any Jubilee blocks cut out to sew up --- so I’m back working on the String Geese. I cut some orange wing triangles and that will be my project for today!
I’m not even sure how many will be able to join me today because many still have family festivities in full swing….
This is the LAST Quilt-Cam of the year! I leave Saturday for Dallas – then straight on to Arizona from there and won’t be home until the 17th of January – so it will be a while before we are able to do another one.
Do you have a project that is dragging? Get it out – come sew with me!
You can leave a comment in the comment section below, or leave one in the guest book by clicking the blue guest book button in the left hand side bar, While I can't answer them all ---I do pick randomly and try to answer questions and comments as I sew!

..making a Dresden Plate out of ties.. any tips?
Hi, Bonnie! I'm sneaking in a few moments of handwork on dear Jane until our company returns. Thanks for hosting quilt cam again!
On your string geese, did you start with squares and cut them into the geese?? Just curious, what size squares? it is now sleeting in Shippensburg... great day to stay in and sew. Thanks hon!!
Sitting here watching your quilt cam and waiting for the snow to start falling here in New Hampshire! I'm working on a School House Quilt that I started last New Year's Eve :-) I got a bit sidetracked throughout the year! Thanks again for all of your inspiration! Happy New Year! ~ Tracy
In a full-pledged snow storm here in Ohio....as long as the power stays on, we can sew and spend time with you today!
Irene
Missing you today, I'm off to spend the day with daughter and granddaughter. Happy New Year to you and all my Quilt-Cam friends.
Working on Easy Street, it is white outs and snow falling here in WNY! Hope the power stays on!
Fire going just in case, lol.
I am really torn. Bonnie or Bonanza?? I think you win and I will go shut off the TV. Julie
Bonnie -- am on your quiltville site... but quilt cam is NOT coming through.... HELP lol

Hi, Bonnie! Stitching along with you here in cloudy Rhode Island! The big storm is headed this way, but we're just expecting high winds and rain. No snow. :( I'm hand stitching the binding onto a queen-sized double wedding ring for my nephew and his wife. They've been married for almost 2 years, and they will finally have their quilt on Friday. My quilting "friends" coerced me into making a scalloped edge, which makes the binding a little complicated.
Your Christmas sounds great, as understated as mine here too! Nice to be able to catch you back here across the pond. Doing a little quilting whilst I listen :).
First time to join you for the quilt-cam. This is GREAT!!!
Making a few mug rugs while waiting for the next clue of your mystery. There is a little snow here in Oklahoma where I am for Christmas, just enough for making a mess on the roads.
Merry Christmas Bonnie, Mary in Canada here. I am working on a quilt with all the nautical fabrics I picked up on our trip to the east coast back in October. I should be working on the fat turkey's but the boats are calling me more today
Hi Bonnie from snowy Pennsylvania! Gonna work on some cheddar bow ties if I can get my grandson to take a nap..... have a great New Year and safe travels!
Hi Bonnie.
Watching my first ever quilt cam here in the UK. Very excited to see you're coming to Ireland in June, trying to talk hubby into a trip for my birthday as nor too far a journey from heterosexual. Leigh x
Hi, this is Janina from Germany! I'm so happy that you're really doing quiltcam tonight! A perfect way to spend this evening when everyone else is still celebrating Christmas (and a real good motivation to keep my hands busy with my GMFG and the 1" hexagons...)
Lol oops autocorrect fail. Not to Farr a journey from here! *blushing*
heavy snow here in southern MI...have a safe time on your travels..see you the end of January!!

Bobbi in Alabama saying hello. It's my first time checking in with you on quilt cam. Our weather here yesterday was horrible, Mobile Alabama got hit hard with a tornado...I think remnants are heading to the east coast now, so be safe all of you with that weather coming in. Working on step 2 of Easy street, so glad I could join you.
hi Bonnie - I'm loving your music - gotta love the 70's. I'm not sewing - but sitting here listening to you - which is always good. Early start to my day here in Australia - glad the dogs got me up early today. I particularly like the melon coloured fabric.
Hi Bonnie! Glad to have only worked a half day today so I could watch quiltcam today. Finished Clue 5. Only pressing left.
AJ
Is the quilt cam still going? I am getting a black screen. : {
Deb from MN...cold and clear! Got my Adventures w/Leaders and Enders and my seam guides. My collection of your books is now complete! Love, Love the seam guide. All ready for Easy Street Part 6. Working on. Please repeat the quilt batting piece, I lost Quilt cam just then. thanks and happy New Year!
Hi Bonnie! Thanks for keeping me company while I CUT SCRAPS. Thanks for the batting tips. I'm ready to baste a quilt for hand quilting with wool batting. I'm looking forward to working with it.
Hi Bonnie! I have been trying to get caught up on Easy Street. Somehow I got behind last week. I am now working on the latest step, hope to be done by Friday's new step posting. I have thoroughly enjoyed QuiltCam during the holidays. I tried to take advantage of every one.
Julie in Alabama
I am working on a top for a new grandson, Kord Waylon Henderson. I had to put Easy Street on hold. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas.
Surprised to be here this morning. Decided to stay home and not fight the crowds shopping. Went to see Lincoln last night with DH. He even noticed the Quilt on the bed. An Ohio Star. DH bought me Fat quarters, call me SHOCKED!! Gotta still get Part 5 done. Think a couple of the ones he bought will go it Easy Street.
Did you say that the next step for Easy street will be out tomorrow? I have finished step 5 but I have not finished all the rest of the steps and that it what I am working on this week - while I am on vacation. I am enjoying Easy Street -- thanks for the great pattern. And thanks for Quilt Cam -- it is great to sew with a friend.
I finally started working on a garden-themed log cabin quilt that I'd been planning since spring. I decided at the last minute to double the width of each "log" but forgot to recalculate the new lengths. Now, because of my error, I will need to go out and buy more fabric. Will I pack it back up and forget about it for another 8 months? Probably, but I have plenty to work on in the meantime. I got Adventures with Leaders and Enders for Christmas and couldn't be happier!
Love the sewing box. It is Boxing day here too. almost finished. Back into the closet it goes.. I have started giving my Christmas things to those in my family that wants it. It gets harder every year to put it up, especially when I could be sewing insteat..lol
Is your strings made from "all" re-purposed shirts or clothing in general. Twelve re-purposed shirts does not a string geese make.
Can't stay and play as I am working today and lunch is over. Wanted to wish you safe travels in the new year. Looking forward to Quilt Cam when you return.
I just put together a 10-drawer organizer (the one with rainbow drawers that you see everywhere). I am going to fill it with the strips from the scraps I cut last night in accordance with your system. Hardly made a dent in the supply of scraps, but little by little it will get done. In the end I will probably need several of the organizers to hold all the strips! Now I'm going to play with my new toy - the Pineapple Tool!
Hi from Germany! I'm a fan of this time for Quilt Cam, as it's perfect for me to watch before getting ready for bed!
I'm working on a cross stitch with you - my shoulder means I can't use a rotary cutter, but I do what I can! Trying to work hard and not feel sorry for myself...hubby will be home from his "business trip" (been gone to an an unfriendly area of the world, if you catch my drift) in two or three months...and I'm starting to get so excited as the day comes closer! I haven't seen him since October, when he got two weeks off...
Hi Bonnie--I am also working on the flying geese. I have laid it on the bed to measure the length and for me 26 flying geese long is a good length for the bed I have. Enjoying making them. They are coming out so pretty.
Gale/Oklahoma
I think it was Roberta Flack singing Killing me softly. :)
About the Hobbit: Ihave to wait for hubby to go see that, so today me and the girls going to go see LES MIS!!!!! also. . don't you wish they gave you enough light in the theater so you could work on hexies??? LOL
Roberta Flack....Killing Me Softly
It's Roberta Flack.
Forgot to mention that your audio and video are the best they have ever been. No jerkiness in the video at all and the video and audio match up perfectly.
I'm working on your Cathedral Star quilt as I watch you Bonnie!
still doing my tshirt quilt.she likes the colors and my geese look good
Working at my desk, writing thank you notes. I'm enjoying listening to you. You are keeping me company!
Wow almost forgot you were on today . I am cutting my pieces for the Mystery quIlt you are teaching in Dallas. I think I got all the pieces cut. Quilt cam is acting up a bit for me today but now it is back
I tried making some crumb squares and I don't like it when a seam in my crumb or string piece end up in the seam it seems so thick... how do you deal with seams in seams?
snow storm here in northeast Ohio so far 4+ inches of snow! Love quilt cam!
Cold, wet and blowing snow in northeast Indiana! Brrr! Just got home from work and remembered it was Bonnie Day! Got my fat-butt geese sewn last night and have to trim and press now! Was going to make a run up to southwest Michigan to pick up a 1951 Singer (straight stitch) machine as my Christmas present to me. But, will have to postpone due to the weather. DARN! Oh, well, other days are coming!
Hi Bonnie, I am too excited to work on anything!! I am tearing up my sewing room to make room for Pfaff Ultimate System I got for Christmas
Bonnie, is your extension table custom built? I've been noticing it. Thanks, Jamey
Hey Bonnie! My mother in law and I are listening while we quilt my Orca Bay on her long arm. Question... Is there a way to leave a comment for you on quilt cam without using the blog comment section? My iPhone doesn't love to use the comment box.
Watching you while eating my tea, then going to do some tying on a rag wreath. My very first machine was a Toyota - copy of a Singer. I think my sister-in-law had it when I left New Zealand for the UK
Hi Bonnie, It is 6.48 am Thursday morning here on the east coast of Australia. I am going to try and do a bright coloured(orange, bright green etc) children/baby quilt incorporating your new string flying geese in alternate columns with machine embroidered blocks. It is just a thought at this stage. Just need to work out what colour to put in the side triangles
Paper piecing cabans and palm trees for quilt. Making easy street. Ready for part 6:) DH got me a Featherweight for Christmas.to arrive Fri. Cant wait...Happy New Year! See you in Feb, in Perry,Ga anxious to meet you
Inspired by your panda speaker, I looked it up online and saw they had it in an owl shape. I ended up getting this for christmas and already put a scrappybow on its ear. Thanks for hte insite in the adorable speaker.
Jess in Indiana
Hi Bonnie,
I'm just starting to sew step 1 of Easy Street. I made 10 of step 2 first and I'm amazed my geese are perfect. Your video on using the rulers correctly did the trick. Working on Easy Street means that I finished my papercuts quilt top yesterday.

Upstate NY
Watching you and General Hospital. Finished pillow shams this morning for an Underground Railroad quilt I finished in reds and browns. Snowing earlier and raining now in Charles Town, WV.
Enjoying quilt-cam and smocking along.
Hey Bonnie it's Colleen from Lewisville. thanks for kicking my but in gear with Quilt cam. I've been laying around readinNdola a post Christmas stupor and needed to finish a present for my uncle. BTW I'm typing this on my new iPad!!
Happy boxing day, Bonnie!
Choppy for me now.....
Where did the Panda and/or Owl speakers come from? Need to find one for Abby. Thanks!
Hi Bonnie working on easy street in Wisconsin. Found out my mom has my grandma' s old singer in her attic. It is the 403 I think. So now need tosee how it works. That was a fun surprise.
Hey Bonnie! I am watching you in FULL SCREEN! I am so pitiful, techologically. Anyway, it is blowing COLD yuk here in N. AL, and I am watching you and spinning my seams on Easy St. four patches. had to go back to Floribama (oops, freudian slip) to learn how to do this. Great to learn a new trick. Christy in N. Ala.
Luv owls..Just purchased the speaker from Ebay! Can you say "enabler"!
You are hardly moving but the sound is normal. Is it me?
In glad it's Wednesday too. It's been Thursday all day around here as well. What rotary cutter do you use. I find my wrist aching lately and think my cutter may be to blame.
Morning Bonnie! It's 6am in Queensland and the feed isn't great - I can hear you but you aren't moving LOL. I am sewing some tiny shoofly blocks from the sitting turkey leftovers of the last clue. I think I'll make a sewing machine cover with them. Hope you had a lovely Christmas.
Rebooting the camera --- will be right back!!
Bonnie, your sound is good, but you video is not. You are hardly moving around. :-( REBOOT!
While listening to you today, I managed to straighten up and dust my sewing room. I haven't done any sewing since this past April, but I'm going to try to get back in the mood and start working on something today. We'll be moving in March, and I'm looking forward to setting up and organizing my new space, and then getting some of these many, many tops on the frame to get them quilted.
Hi Bonnie, Sneaking a peek at quilt cam from work (Police
Dept secretary). It's snowing hard here in PA! Lots of traffic crashes. Wish we were back on the cruise!

Link keeps cutting out and very choppy.
Hi I am in rainy California watching at the laundry mat sewing yo yo s
Thank you for web cam
Colleen
Uh-oh. Lost the feed, and it was pretty choppy before that. I will reboot...maybe it's the wind here in Georgia.
This is too funny and all on me. I was watching you on my smartphone thru ustream app. Things were fine. Got downstairs and turned on big tv to watch thru roku about time someone had told you best sync of voice and video ever! Things went quickly downhill after that. My roku has rebooted several times and it got to point the machine was stitching and you were facingwebcam and talking yo is!
Sorry for typos. I couldn't reach that part of comment to edit. A few minutes have passed. You did what you did and i turned off laptop. Too much stress on home wifi network! Lol!
Wow, thanks for the info on the Sew Adjustable Table and to find out it's right here in my home state. I'm going to definitely get one of these especially since it can be used with many different machines. Feed is coming through just fine now. Yeah!
Hi Bonnie, Happy Boxing Day from Salem, Oregon
I am working on some "moth in windows", I am current on mystery & I have a question... When you piece the strings and crumb squares into other pieces how do you deal with extra thick spots? Do you take the little extra piece off back if none of the color will show in the finished square?
Bonnie, While I'm watching you on Quiltcam I'm setting up my new SewAdjustable table! For Christmas, DH got me an adjustable one for my Pfaff and another do-it-yourself model for my Bernina! It was very easy to set up for my machine, and I'm so excited to have these tables. What a nice gift!
Is there some program I need on my computer to be able to see quilt cam? I'm registered with UStream.
Barbara
DHD from Quiltsy
My New Year's Eve plans include you. I will be in your Sunday and Monday classes and then will spend a few days with my daughter and then will be attending your lecture in McKinney. I have waited all year for this weekend to finally come. I am so excited.
Bonnie,
How many weeks worth of clues should we expect for Easy Street?
Peggy in NJ
I volunteer at a thrift store weekly. All the better to snag men's shirts. A few weeks ago snagged a 7 x 9 phone book to make a string geese quilt. Did some online shopping today and just bought an accu-quilt GO. Can't wait.
Where is Mr Peepers today? LOL
This is a sweet afternoon treat - oops, I should be 'working' - but even a working girl needs a late lunch break....We'll miss the cam while you're away - have a blast! My friend Connie is Arizona is so anxious for you to be there!!!
Yay!!! for just one more quiltcam.....maybe...
JUST saw your SHIRT! I NEED THAT!!! LOL
"Polska" Lynn In Florida...hahaha
Thanks for quilt cam today!
I missed it!! When I remembered you were doing cam this afternoon you had already signed off. Sigh.
Rats! I missed it again. Forgot to watch Sunday and just wasted away this afternoon not knowing it was going to be on. Have a good trip and Happy New Year.
ugh!!!! But I was off picking up my "new" Singer 301A. I have a twin to your machine now.
It has been so good this month to have you be at home and to have the quilt time with you. I do not have anyone here to sew with very often. It sure is wonderful to have someone. I love your patterns and your sewing machines are awesome. I have 13 sewing machines so have to make choices when I get ready to sew.
Sorry I missed quilt cam today, just came home from being at my sisters for a couple of days, but I look forward to the next one when you get back in January. Happy New Year!!
So sorry I too missed your QuiltCam today. Actually I was around but my feeble old brain forgot that you were going to be on during the day (US time). I will just have to mark the calendar next time you tell us that you might do one. Have a great time on your travels. Looking forward to 2015 when you will be in our city.
have been looking at your Brother "Bobby" sewing machine, then going back and comparing yours to mine. there is a slight difference. The tag on the front of yours say"Syncro-matic". Mine says "Window-matic. Mine has the numbers and then letters that signify the model #. If you put your hand on the knob that raises and lowers the feed dogs, then look forward and to the right, mine says HA3-B5. I called Brother Corp @ 1-877-552-6255.They said that mine is a model 061. They e-mailed a manual to me. Very interesting.I also have a serial # as does yours, mine is N179958
