And what a great way to ring in the “Fall Back” of the time change this morning--- we played hard yesterday, and this morning we got an extra hour to sleep in before Pineapple Crazy class starts this morning! It’s a half day workshop – if everyone gets ONE pineapple block and one border block done, they’ll have all they need to know to finish the whole quilt on their own ---at some point!
Last night we did the “deboning a shirt” demo --- fun fun fun!
This is Loretta – she and her hubby came together and I’ve enjoyed getting to know them! While Loretta sewed yesterday, her hubby was off to go check out some estate auctions and thrift shops….they have a lot of fun together searching out bargains, and we had a good time at dinner talking about vintage machines.
Loretta even brought her own chair for hours of power sewing – check out her handiwork:
She covered her chair with selvages!
Cute Cute Cute!
Maribeth is the powers that be for putting this retreat on, and she has spoiled us rotten! She’s made each of us adorable chicken pincushions. Be watching for those in the photos below --- many of the chickens just couldn’t help but pose to show off their colorful plumage!
She also gifted us all with beaded stilettos --- SO SO SO pretty! And since I sliced my finger this last week and the band aid and tape make it hard to feel the nested seams, the stiletto has come in handy to hold the nested seams together as they are sewn.
Also VERY cool idea for quilts with many pieces:
An expandable file holds all the pieces for the quilt where they are easy to find, keeping your workspace organized and free from clutter! I thought this idea was brilliant!
Join in on our fun by viewing the photos below.
It’s been a great weekend and I’ve enjoyed every minute! Looking forward to 2016 when I can come back again!

That looks like great fun - and so nice to see my Aunt Loretta having a wonderful time! I never learned how to sew, but things like this make me think it would be a great skill to learn / hobby to have...
