Back in my room, getting ready to sew!
This is the most crazy, cockamamie set up with an iron I have ever seen!
The wall holder is bolted to the board?
There is a curly stretchable cord bolted to the handle of the iron!
The only thing good so far is this iron doesn't have to be unplugged every 15 minutes to reset it :-)
Oh the joys of hotel sewing!

What the heck.....?
Maybe they heard about all the machines you have collected and wanted to make sure you weren't starting an iron collection too..... :o)
Looks like the bolts will scratch the bottom of the iron.
What hotel is that?!?! lol
I stay at Hampton Inns and their sister hotels, unless nothing is available where I"m going. They always have full size boards & irons that are "normal". I get the points.
Same with LaQuinta, they are a good one. I have gotten a lot of free nights by being loyal to both and I don't travel nearly as much as you... Might give it a try.
It's worth it for the ironing boards alone!~ Lol
Plus, you get a little area that is bigger too. Nice rooms and comfy beds and they wash their duvets! :)
That looks awkward to even use! Lucky you are only ironing little pieces. I am so delighted - I have just booked your three workshops at the International Festival of Quilts in Ireland next year, that's Christmas and also birthday presents for next year covered. I am so looking forward to meeting you. Also just waiting for my parcels to arrive from Bug Fabric to be ready to start Easy Street. I have some that will get me started on Friday. Safe home. From Ann Sheehan, Cork,Ireland
I have not seen one quite set up like that before! how the heck would a person press a pair of dress pants for instance with that in the way!
Wow!!! Never saw anything like that! I have taken the iron into the bathroom and ironed in there so as not to wake my honey lol
Oh good Lord, doesn't even like it would be a good paperweight!! Talk about thanks but no thanks, don't you travel with a mini iron, I thought you posted about one once?
Looking forward to quiltcam!
When I check into a hotel, I always survey the room and steal the iron! (lol)
LOL! I would think that someone sometime has stolen there irons. Or they are Really paranoid!
To funny!
Miss you! I feel like I am waiting for my quilty sister to come home. Safe trip!

Jury rigging extrodinare.....where is spell Ck when you need it??????
That's, um.... special.
If they're gonna do something so lame, they could at least turn the wall holder around before bolting it down, so the curly cord would reach farther.
Yeah. That was done by a man.
Break out the tools and bust that iron out!!
Ha ha ha ha ha.... Do you think necessity was the mother of this invention?
You crack me up. I just now realized I haven't had any cockamamie situations lately!!! I must be on the lookout. *wink* and silly *karendianne.
I wish this was Facebook so I could like all comments previous to mine!!
It doesn't seem smart to me, to spend, let's say $8.00 on a contraption to deter theft on a $15.00 iron--'cause that looks like a cheap iron. As Long as it works,I guess.
Thanks so much for the wonderful classes the last 2 days. It was really fun to finally meet you after reading your blog for so long and hearing so great things about your quilts from Carol Schon. Enjoyed the comments about my truck, A girls gotta have fun! See you in June in Ireland.
That is crazy! I thought of you today when I saw a 1927 Singer for sale. They wanted too much... $85 with no box, no pedal but it looked in fair shape otherwise. I though Bonnie would take a picture and let this one go... Catch and release, as you say! I was tempted... It is the oldest one I've ever come across.
I m just impressed with your spelling of cockamamie . *LOL* I am a pretty good speller and I wouldn't have known where to begin. Sew away, Bonnie!
So funny! This place must really think their iron is valuable! I have been enjoying my new Vermont Country Store old fashioned dry iron for quite a while now. I just looked back on the suggested posts and saw what you all wrote about it. I just wish they could have it made in the USA! Also, I am making wonky log cabin blocks to send in for the Sandy Survivors' benefit you talked about - thanks for the ideas so we can help - my quilt group will join in on it, too, I imagine (we meet tomorrow) altho they don't know it yet! Safe travels 'til you're home again! Carol in Arkansas
I had the same frustration at Sisters Inn & Suites this summer before the quilt show. Do people really steal irons? It sure made ironing a hassle. I feel your pain. :o)
Get the bolt cutters out.
I once had a room with this sort of iron/board arrangement. Really frustrating! But the makers were probably thinking more of the storage side of things rather than the using! Most definitely designed by men!
i agree. i think i'd rather be charged a refundable 'rent' for the iron than have to deal with that set-up.
