Yes, finally I get to watch you on quiltcam. Usually it is too late for us in Europe. Unfortunately though we are going out tonight - it is our wedding anniversary next week, so we are going out for a meal. It only happens once or twice a year so I can't say no. I'll get 15 or 20 minutes anyway. Watching from Cork in Southern Ireland.

In the last several weeks it seems that many an orphan has made it home to you. Most impressed with the repair work you did on the beautiful feather weight that was gifted you recently too!

Back at it. After de-boning comes the DE-Buttoning... DH asked why and what was I going to do with them. I told him you were starting a Mystery. So my fabrics are his old shirt and the shirts I picked up at the Thrift store. Thanks for another addiction.
After Thanksgiving is great for me. My Dad's birthday is Thanksgiving day and I'm having the WHOLE family here. Plus this will give me a little longer to finish up Orca Bay before the new mystery starts.
Hi Bonnie, Rain last night kept me awake and so I caught you at 2am again. Really enjoying your moth in the window block. Building works means my roof has been taken off my bungalow as I am going up a floor. I am currently living in a caravan in my front garden. Hi Bonnie, Love quilt cam time. I have a question, I have an antique applique quilt, 30's fabric with embroidery floss, which got wet and the fabric has bled in a few blocks. It's not completely quilted so I'm going to remove those blocks. My question is how do you clean quilts like this?.

I got my Ikea lamps on Amazon.com. I purchased 2. One for me and one for DH. He lost his in the house and wanted to borrow mine. NO way! After an hour he found it. He had moved it to his Laptop. Guess I need to get some more! They really are a great tool for seeing what your sewing!!

I really don't! Antique malls are always going to be more expensive than thrift shops. Start with one. Get it working, use it often...and let the others find you one by one :)
It was great fun to sew along with you for the first time. You have such an upbeat attitude and outlook on life, I love it! I know that the cam and answering questions slows your sewing down but thank you for doing it. I enjoyed the "conversation" and will long remember the comment from the quilter with MS that can't get out to a quilt meeting. Thanks for all your sharing with the quilts of the world!
I heard that hydrogen peroxide can help...as can oxy clean...but I really don't have experience with embroidered quilts. Have you googled "bleeding fabric" yet?

Hi Bonnie - my brother-in-law is very sick. My sister gave me some of her old scrubs (she is a dental hygienest) and some of his shirts. I have decided to make this block with their combined fabrics - plaids for his and cute little designs for hers. Quilt cam gives me inspiration even when I miss it. Thank you.
I love it for triangles -- it cuts the dog ears off for you. I bought the 4,3 & 2 inch triangle dies. I cut fabrics into strips about 1/2 inch wider than you need so there's not a lot of waste. I cut 4-6 layers at a time. Then just randomly sew the triangles together for a great scrappy look.
If the tension mechanism can be removed by releasing a tiny screw on the left front, the whole thing can be replaces with another total tension assembly. Most of those were interchangable in the Kenmore lines back then.

Bonnie you are too funny...I didn't finish before you yesterday and I wasn't doing leaders and enders either...today though I am ahead and I did a spool :) However I am still AMAZED at how you can chat with us and not just sew everything backwards. No worries...your talk about European fabric reminded me I have some "special" plaidish fabric from Norway...so I making a block for me and one for YOU too!

Hi Bonnie Carolyn From Cincinnati (Again) Magnetic bowl is less expensive from Harbor Freight. I've also bought the (45 mm) Replacement CARPET Cutter Blade there for a lot less than sold as a fabric cutter!!!!!

I heard that hydrogen peroxide can help...as can oxy clean...but I really don't have experience with embroidered quilts. Have you googled "bleeding fabric" yet?

I, too, was touched by the quilter w/MS. My brother-in-law has MS and it can be very isolating.
Hi Bonnie - my brother-in-law is very sick. My sister gave me some of her old scrubs (she is a dental hygienest) and some of his shirts. I have decided to make this block with their combined fabrics - plaids for his and cute little designs for hers. Quilt cam gives me inspiration even when I miss it. Thank you.
I love it for triangles -- it cuts the dog ears off for you. I bought the 4,3 & 2 inch triangle dies. I cut fabrics into strips about 1/2 inch wider than you need so there's not a lot of waste. I cut 4-6 layers at a time. Then just randomly sew the triangles together for a great scrappy look.
Last night Bonnie said the next mystery would start the day after Thanksgiving. I believe there is a tab for the mysteries at the top of her blog.

If the tension mechanism can be removed by releasing a tiny screw on the left front, the whole thing can be replaces with another total tension assembly. Most of those were interchangable in the Kenmore lines back then.
Was in a Quiltmaker just a few months ago as the "Addicted to Scraps" feature. It sure is cute!
