I've cut out more parts for Moth in the Window blocks from recycled shirt plaids.
This is what I'm working on tonight -- nothing really fancy, but with all the warm colors it feels like a good Autumn project. I've got more than enough to keep me busy for the next hour and a half or so.

Hi, Bonnie. Tonight I'm also working with recycled plaids. I am making Checkerboard Plaids an Evelyn Sloppy pattern from 40 Fabulous Quick-Cut Quilts. I didn't quite have enough dark shirts, so I dug around in my stash until I found some homespuns to round out the fabric selection. Then this morning I stopped by another church rummage sale and picked up 5 more shirts. They may go into the mix for the checkerboard border.
Hi there, Bonnie! It's great fun working along with you! However, for the last few times, it's been more like radio; for some reason I don't get any video anymore. I can deal, after all, I get more done when I'm looking at my project instead of yours, but I hate to feel like I'm missing anything! :-) Does anyone else have this problem?

I'm getting dinner going and then I'll be hand quilting later this evening. I've only got about half way to go to finish the last border on this quilt then it's ready for binding.
Hi Bonnie, waving at you from Hemet, Calif., where it was 110* yesterday. Much cooler today (only 85*!) Working along with you sewing binding on a string quilt that will be DH's niece's birthday present.
Could I bring my own vintage machine to your retreat??? My 1925 Singer (electric with knee control) sounds almost as good as your treadle and some of your other darlings! I am doing string piecing for Tulip Fields on it-kind of keeps the mess on one table!

Ustream seems to be having problems-I hadn't had any problems until tonite and was having trouble with the video and then the audio started to repeat!! Closed all the way out and came back and things seem to be working better!

Looking forward to your "Cathedral Stars" workshop in Tallahassee, FL in three weeks. I purchased the rulers and am pulling the fabrics together from my stash with you during Cam Time. It'll take another QuiltCam to pick up the mess in my sewing room from tonite. Thanks for "opening your home", spending time & sharing knowledge with a couple thousand of us quilters.
I'm never quite sure what machine needle size to buy, using 90/14 at the moment but I think I should go to a smaller diameter. In my area the Schmetz quilting needles are twice the price of the universal ones. What do you use?
Bonnie, when you say zigzag setting, I know what that is, but I've made several tops with what was called "Patience Corners" which also makes the blocks set differently, not lined up in rows. Looks like dancing blocks, really looks good, and easy to do: pre-sash the blocks on two adjacent sides, then alternate the way you set them. Anyway, love Quilt Cam and all your other stuff, too! Hi Bonnie, this is Janet from Brisbane Australia. I am currently in Lancaster visiting the Amish areas. Loving watching quilt am while I repack my suitcase as we head to Chicago tomorrow. We are here for 3 weeks finishing at the show in Houston. Boy you guys are a long way away it took us 30 hours to get here. At home we gift the hotel toiletries to women's shelters. Janet

You might also take them to a food bank... we give those things away at our foodbank

Bonnie, I love the leader/ender system and it has revolutionized my production of quilt tops! I made two quilts so far with four-patches.
What I now have difficulty understanding is how you web things together, like this block, or a quilt top.
