I can see and hear you! Love your quilt top! BTW went to Hillsville and bought a vintge machine. He is white and dark turqouise with chrome 'Classic' form Japan. He sews a mean straight stitch. I also came away with some crumb blocks in 40's fabrics hand sewn on fabric foundations.

I see you are using your Sew Mate Table. I just got one last week. I love having the flat surface to work on. Thanks for the tip on where to find it. It will work with any machine I get, so it will last for ever.....

I agree on doing the binding by hand. I have a HARD time doing any machine binding... To me binding is so relaxing and when it's all done it is great to give it a great big snuggle as I say a prayer for the future owner.
What kind of iron do you use? I seem to never be able to find one that irons flat!

Do you ever do the corner square method on the top corners on wall hangings to use to slide your dowel rod into to use as a hanger...If needed I add loops where needed to slide dowel through to keep center of quilt supported.

The yellow shows up so much better on quilt cam! So glad you had great and even bettern that you are back on quilt came again!

I stand in awe of you, Bonnie! I can only "think" of making that Nearly Insane quilt!! And, you've almost finished it. WOW!
Why don't you sew the binding to the top as you quilt it on the longarm? That's how I always do it because a huge quilt is too bulky for me to use on my regular sewing machine.

From Di in TN: Yes, it was a Brother - my yellow Tweety. Decorated it with Tweety stickers. LOL I'll have to look and see the various colors I have. I even made a Tweety pin cushion.

I love all the colors of the quilt, it's beautiful, and I agree about the blue binding. Awesome. When you mentioned blue on your blog, I figured it would be the best. Wish I had the patience to start a quilt like this one, love it. Kathy
Someone at a quilt store told me to use the detergents (I think it might be from Bounce)that absorb color when washing batiks. The ones that advertize you can wash reds and whites together.

Bonnie, I bought the Singer 15-91 in the wonderful cabinet at the Verona Antq. Mall yesterday. I was surprised it was still there. It sews a nice stitch and I can't wait to make something with it. Thanks for posting about it and it you want to visit it, just let me know ;-> Spent today cleaning and polishing it, like a new penny.

I also heard you say something about a 403 earlier but didn't quite catch it...I own one that my Mum passed down to me. It was a wedding present from my dad's folks to her!
Glad you are back. I was able to crochet a small item that I will use for Christmas gift. I need a bunch more so I am doing them in my hour a day.

I caught it. Took me a minute to realize wit the kindle fire that I had to upload upstream. It worked perfectly. Thanks so much for the cut off the tip of triangle (top., batting and backing) . I cant for my next binding.
Also, I had to look up that pantograph you used...I don't have a long arm but it's still fun to look at them and try to figure out how to use some of the curves/turns for FMQ!

Wish I could watch you on quilt cam, but with our "rotten" dial-up internet I watch videos at a halting one-word-at-a-time rate. It is more freeze frame with open mouths than talk and motion. I see from other comments that you cut the corners also. I have found that makes a neater corner. I am doing many, many corners because I am in the process of doing 30 to 40 wheelchair quilts for our nursing home, so am getting much better at binding. I like your 3/8" border - I just gauge 1/4" with my walking foot and have a wider border on the back. An even 3/8 would be much better. Now I have 1/4" and about 5/8" on the back.
