Hi Bonnie, Soscrappy checking in from Florida. Finished writing a test for my students just in time to check in and sew with you for a few minutes. I am making geese for Hawaii Sunset, lots and lots of geese.
That sewing machine really revs!! Vroom vroom! :-) Do you ever miss the "needle-down" feature when you use an older sewing machine?
Bonnie, I see that you don't pin most of the time. Do you have a trick for keeping the opposing, nested seams from flipping back on you as you sew? BTW I am sewing with you tonight on my "new" Featherweight. I just got her yesterday. Oiled her up and she is very happy to be sewing again. I was trying to think of a name for her. Maybe it will be Bonnie in your honor!

It's so funny. Yesterday I went to my local quilt shop to get my monthly free fat quarter (which by the way cost me more than free because I rummaged through their scrap bin at $4 a bag. But it was a blast and I am here in my sewing room cutting them into strips and squares with my Accu-Cutter as I watch you on my iPad. Best invention since the rotary cutter! Yippee! :o)
I'm using binder clips to get ready to hand stitch a binding tonight while I watch quilt Cam. Nice to see your Bow ties getting put into 9's.
I know you have said before but the quilt that is hanging on the long arm behind you is blowing my mind. Name of the pattern? Where can I get it?

Hi Bonnie! I know you use the Accu Quilt cutter for strips. When I see some of your photos on your site, your HSTs have one corner on the triangle and one corner off, as if you've used the Easy Angle. Is that true? If so, why don't you cut your triangles with the Accu Quilt cutter?

hey, Bonnie, I am working on a Linus quilt for the Pine Tree Quilt guild. I am tryng to get into the habit of using leaders and enders. It really helped to use the Accuquilt to cut many pieces to use, scrappy of course.

Hi Bonnie, I told my husband earlier this evening that I had an appointment with my therapist at 9 tonight. aka, quilt cam time. He laughed and said to have fun. I'm spending time working on the last block of my block of the month quilt. This one has applique, which I haven't done in long time. My points aren't turning out too bad. Can't wait to put the complete top together.
Hey Bonnie,just got in from work and it's nice to see you tonight :) I've been kitting up Farmer's wife blocks the last few nights from my scrap bag .I find when I'm shopping in my scrap bag I spend more time reminiscing with the small bits & pieces then with my large pieces .Does this ever happen to you? Also like the new machine to night why the switch ?and any reason for that particular machine ?

What do the bow tie squares finish at?
the bowtie block I gave you in Vermont had different corners! I loved using different fabrics in the same block. I ended up making lots of them this way just because I was using little scraps to make the ties.
Bonnie - at exit 49 on Rt 26 in Hendersonville is a HUGE Antique Mall that is a favorite stop of ours when we are in that area. Wave to me when you drive through Knoxville ;-)
Hi Bonnie... I heard you mention Randy's Sow-along. I'm doing that and also making spool blocks plus about five other projects, so I'm sewing and watching you on my laptop in Wisconsin. Love the bow ties!
As suggested by the earlier commenter, if you are going to be anywhere near Berea KY, it is well worth a stop. There are so many wonderful shops that feature handcrafted folkart, and Berea College which was founded to preserve the folk arts. If you are looking for a place for lunch or dinner, there is a pizza shop on the main street that is phenomenal! My husband and I have friends who live in a small town near Lexington, and we visit every fall and Berea is a must stop. The KY Folk Arts Center is right out of town, on the main highway, and is another great place to stretch your legs and give that sciatica a break!

Enjoying watching you on quilt cam in Mo. So love that you reuse clothing. My favorite quilts are the ones my great aunt made from the family clothes that were worn out. There is just something comforting about a night cuddled under them.

I'm in! Always wanted to go to North Carolina. August would be a wonderful time!
Wow! A quilt retreat! I would go if I lived closer and didn't start teaching in the middle of August! I just came home from our 2nd annual retreat here, that I was one of the organizers of! There were 37 of us, in a the best location! A local camp that rents out of their buildings. We rented the biggest one, which had a huge room that we set up with our tables for sewing. Their was a cafeteria on site, that we had our meals....going by slippers :) from one room to the other to be served! :). Our sleeping quarters were 6 to a room on big bunkbeds...we brought our bedding. We had a place for demos and if it didn't rain, we could walk around the wooded area around the lake! It was a win-win situation! It rained on Saturday and we didn't mind one bit! ;)...beautiful on Sunday! We started Friday evening! If you want some good ideas, let me know...we keep coming up with great ideas! Oh, we used your stiletto idea and made some for our "Anti-stress" kit for quilters! Loads of fun!
I would love to travel to North Carolina next August. You said scrap pieces and hexagons in one sentence. Put me on the list!! I have just seen an add for her new book and think I need to get that soon!!

Hi Bonnie, I got laptop set up in sewing room so that i can sew with you love quilt cam. i am sewing red/white/blue string blocks for a soldier quilt during your quilt cam. would love to come to retreat in NC and bring couple of friends. we usually retreat at a friends house in charlotte in Oct but can't come this year hope to see you in a class in Ill in 2013
