We've done string piecing, made center 9 patches ((yes the measurements are crazy--the 9 patch is on point so we have to work with pesky diagonal measurements for a finished block size that comes out to 12"))
And we are starting to add our strings around the 9 patches.
We even got one of our Creative Crafts Group event coordinators to come sew a bit! She's been involved with scrap booking events, but we have plans to make a quilter out of her yet!!
Lunch is waiting---then we will continue our stitching adventures this afternoon.

LOVE IT! I'm a converted scrapbooker. It was a dramatic day when I moved aside my scrapbook and placed my sewing machine in the place of honor on the dining room table. Glad that I now have a sewing room to fling my strings!
I spied a phone book page in the last pic :). Fellow members of the guild I belong to have been bringing me their old phone books since they've heard that I use them and that the days are numbered until the phone companies are going to quit making them. Once I've used the pages as foundations, I tear the page(s) off and put into a bag that my husband takes to the recyling center :).
I tested this BLOCK for QM Vol 5! It's fun and scrappy! I saw that empty seat on the front row from last night. Picture me there...
Oh, these blocks are beauties. I used to quilt and scrapbook. Quilting has taken over, but I really need to finish those scrapbooks! : )

Bonnie, I had the pleasure of attending your lecture at Hersey last week. It was wonderful and I am addicted. Each day since I have been home, I have been pulling out scraps, pressing and trimming. I am working on a quilt for my granddaughter for Christmas and am now using my scraps for leaders and enders. I am hooked! Thanks so much! Carol in NJ cgrant1130@aol.com

Me too! Once my children got older and I got caught up, I went back to quilting more. I even have a scrapbook of my quilts. Seems a lot of us do both. :)

Great Block! My husband just walked by the computer and glanced at it and said "Wow you should make that block" so...where is this pattern?
(my husband is my quilter he uses OUR VIKING MQ on a frame so it isn't odd that he notices blocks but he really liked this)
I am new to this page. Where can I find the pattern for the block?
