I just got this funny in email – it’s too good NOT to pass on.
And instead of sending it to everyone in my email address book ------I’m going to post it here for you because….
I had tears running down my cheeks, this is so funny.
Quite a few of us were moaning and griping about how our backs hurt after 3 full days of workshops. How our eyes were near blind from trying to thread needles and staring at miniscule lines on rulers trying to get things cut right ---
How a quilter’s diet of “everything munchie, crunchy, sweet, or fried” is wreaking havoc on our systems….
But all the while thinking it would be great if they would develop a quilter’s retirement community so that we could all move in with our stashes when we get old, and just sew our brains out until we die---and what we don’t’ sew up, just gets left behind for the next person to move in to use…
((The story got sillier, and I just laughed harder))
So when I got back to my room and found this picture in my email --- I laughed even HARDER!!
This is the new texting lingo for our Quilters Retirement Society --- memorize it. You are going to need it if you are going to join us. LOL!
I’m back to my room for a quiet lie down before heading out to dinner --- yes – another dinner. Man, I need a walk!

Love it! I hope you can get back up in time for dinner, or they may have to send meals on wheels.
My quilty friends are going to move into a large Victorian house called "Gone to Pieces!" We'll hire a hunk be our chauffeur/chef!
I used LOL in an email to my mother in law once. She wrote back and asked if that meant "little old lady!"
Too funny!!! And probably funnier because most of us can relate to several of these - up close & personal!!!
What is the address and how do I sign up? Do I need to bring my own hunk? haha

I don't know when I last laughed this hard. My eyes are watering. I'm all excited about the quilting retirement home!
Another little story: I bought my 94 year old mother a bag of goldfish crackers. Next time I went to her apartment she told me that cat just did not like them. I've tried and tried explaining that they are not for the cat. I finally gave up and threw them out.
How about WAMG = WHERE ARE MY GLASSES?
And don't forget PIMP = Peein' in my pants!!

My mother sent this to me last month. I think I tinkled my pants I laughed so hard. I really miss the women in my family gathering and having gut splitting laughter (usually at ourselves) over nothing. Laughter is definitely the salt of life.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I think you should be the first one allowed in to the quilters' retirement haven. Isn't that what a Lifetime Award is? I am putting my place on the market now so I'll be ready to move in. What a really fantastic idea...not just funny...but for real! Wouldn't it be great to have smallish retirement homes that are themed for people with insanely addictive hobbies?...Quilting...woodcarving (lots of fireplaces to use the scraps as kindling)...Bridge players (a house of cards)...runners (lots of hallways for when it rains)...bicyclists (lots of walkways running in a circle around the house and no lawn)... and so on...
A quilting friend and I are looking for a RV to run away in together. Since it gets really cold here we'll have to insulate with plenty of fabric and yarn :-). We'll come and visit you at the Quilter's Retirement Community.
I so agree on all counts. Many congrats on your well-deserved awards, Bonnie. And yep we quilter's definitely need someone to build a themed retirement home--preferably nearby to a major quilt show! That's my major concern--that i have enough room for my stash,wall space for designing,a room with good lighting to sew and quilt, good soundproofing so we can sew at 3 am if we want to, and friends to quilt with. I've got to start figuring out how much space i need!
