I feel put to complete shame!

There are over 1,000 bow-ties in her quilt. I’m at 200+??

I am SUCH. A. SLACKER!
Here we are in April ---- I issued the challenge last July from Sister’s, Oregon ---how far have YOU gotten? Our 1 year challenge will be up by the time my Sisters trip rolls around again!
That gives me 3 months to buckle down more on them ----

Kelli's fabrics are sensational and she's got a heck of quilt going on here. What inspiration she is. :) I'm about on the wall of shame with 159. Gee and I thought I was so much farther along. Me and my visions of grandeur.
No worries Bonnie.... I'm at the ~ 200 range too. Just cut up some more "sets" yesterday so I can keep plugging away at it.... that's the point of a L & E, right? ;-)

Superwoman's bowties for sure!! I have the fabric for mine, so far....must get to cutting---(wouldn't mouse fabric be funny on these??) I am getting befuddled with the "Blueridge Beauty setting right now....Love that cheddar--Julierose
oooooo--LOVE LOVE LOVE!! and I see some fabrics that I have in my stash :-) I am not participating in this because--*I didnt know about it till today--* so--for ME, (b'day today) I am thinking I will be cutting out a new project tonight--I have been cutting up leftovers from Orca Bay into two and half inch strips and then I managed to get into my fat qtrs....*&$**$--something wrong here!! anyway--I LOVE snap ware--most of mine are called lock locks! ps--what size are these? not that that matters, I might make mine a bit bigger or smaller. I have bowties from a class I took years ago---maybe I will just work them all in together...what a whirl! going back to cutting! :-)
OH--maybe I cant work mine in---mine have a dimensional center...and are 6.5 unfinished..Kelli's look smaller...hhmmmm
What was the challenge? I think I would like to join. I'm late and will definitely not get the 1,000 (or was that with an extra 0?),but it might be fun to use up some stash and see what I can get done.

I haven't even counted mine lately, but July sounds like a deadline I can live with. I will have to pull mine out. They are stored in a large Zip-lock bag.
I will take the queen of slackers, title, thank you very much! I think I have maybe 3 pieced and another 4 or 5 cut. . .I just put it in the UFO pile, as graduation quilts have called my attention. I would love to know where she got the beautiful cheddar fabrics! Now I'm really tempted! I would also love to see a finished picture of the Scrappy Mountain Majesties quilt in your earlier post that looks like she's setting it in a Barn raising pattern. Love it!

I don't know anything about the challenge. I have been following since right before Orca Bay. Today I have been going thru stash fabrics and organizing. I have discovered a WHOLE bunch of scraps I need to cut to scrap bins. I am giving the Scrap User's System a try as I've never known what to do with my scraps. I REALLY like the Pineapple Blossoms pattern and want to make one soon. I have several other things I need to finish up first. I also realized I have just enough stash to last probably a couple of lifetimes sooooo I'm going to try to say NO to all the great new fabrics and use some of my stash for a while. Thanks so much for a GREAT blog! I really enjoy it. It's a daily vice for me.

I echo Amy Laura--we all know you have just been sitting around doing nothing since July. How many trips have you made to teach how many classes--and when does the new book come out--and what was the name of that mystery quilt you designed--and how many magazine projects have you developed? Why don't you have your bowties finished?
sure you can! scatter the dimensional ones in amongst the new ones that you make in the same size....or make dimensionals as leader enders.
I am at 68 finished ones and very proud of them! LOL! Maybe I need to get going a little faster....
I have only about 25 or so sewn. I do have lots more cut though.
And it's not as if you are doing any other sewing HA!
I like her fabrics...but I really prefer the solid Cheddar. I am so learning to love at as my "go to" accent color. I am so glad I bought an entire bolt!

Once you get a handle on your scraps by using Our Bonnie's Scrap USER System you will wonder how you ever spent your pre-sewing time. It is such a great system!

I chose to make 3-D bowties and have now made two baby quilts (finished!) and one king-size quilt (just back from the long arm and awaiting binding) all out of 5" finished blocks. I got started and couldn't stop! (By the way, my Orca Bay is now at the long arm.) Why doesn't the stash ever look smaller??? Debbie in WV

Oh great - Bonnie you must be working too hard, I swear there is an extra "zero" in the number of bowties in that box. Surely, she is not to 10,000 ??? Maybe you were getting a little punchy!

My last count wasn't even 200, so you still ahead of me, Bonnie. You didn't say the biggest quilt wins, did you? I'll keep working on my scrappy ones.
Kelli's mixed printed cheddars are quite wonderful! I'm over 300 units done but have not counted them recently. My personal preference is for large thrift shop baskets to hold pieces because they are so attractive, but those are not air tight.
I am in the process of designing a UK (University of KEntucky) bowtie quilt for my grandson for his fiest birthday - hope it looks this good!
Now I am a slacker. I need to get my poop together and get to taking advantage of these challenges. I guess in do time.
