Hi you guys!
I'm back from Paris as of last night...had a great time! I know I
will need a nap at some point today, I feel one coming on. I've got pics to upload..many many..and they all need editing down, etc. Give me a day or so to recuperate!
I'm writing quick because I wanted to let you know that I've been hard at work designing our next mystery quilt!
I'm in a bit of a conundrum, because the one I REALLY want to
do.....is in recycled fabrics in Christmas colors! Is this going to
bum you guys out if I drag Christmas out into the new year? If it
helps any....what if we move this mystery back a month and let you
play with your fabrics DURING the holiday season? I'm done teaching
as of Nov 17th. Would you like to work on this project DURING the
holidays? And if you finish it after the new year, well....you are
just that much farther ahead for next year!
And of course, you can choose to do this in a different color plan if you want.
This is going to be a limited availability mystery, much like Carolina
Crossroads was. It's going to go into the 2011 book, so it will only
be available online for a while, and then I'll pull it when it's
published.
I'm planning on using reds, greens, and golds and neutrals, in plaids,
stripes and prints from recycled clothing. And I may throw in some old
fashioned shirting prints as some of my lights to spice them up a bit.
The quilt is a square one, about 84" without borders. The units can
be played with in many ways, so seeing lots of different layouts is
going to be fun!
Other colors? How about blues/browns/golds/neutrals?
red/blue/gold/neutral? green/blue/gold/neutral?
purple/green/gold/neutral....I'm sure you can come up with 3 colors
you like, and maybe even use BLACK as your neutral....you'll like this
one, I promise!
Are you guys game? Looks like it will be about a 6 step mystery.....
Bonnie
ps. Yes, I know my website is unavailable. They are doing maintenance. There is nothing I can do about it but wait it out along with you! :c) I've received phone calls and emails from many people asking me what the deal is. I've called to find out. They say give it time. :c)

Quick question: Were you able to get a needle on the plane to work on your quilt during the long flight? I'm going to Hawaii soon and would hate to waste two days of sitting on a plane doing nothing when I could be sewing. But I thought there would be no way of getting a needle past security.
I'm in. The sooner the better. I'm finishing up a long overdue top, so I'm rarin' to go.
After the holidays! I just can't start anything new until January! :-)
I am ready for a new mystery.
Bring it on.
After the holidays for me too please...I'm up to my ears clearing space and re-organizing the sewing area to start another project...I haven't finished the one you offered in 3 parts of Quiltmaker yet...
I'm game!!! I've done 2 of your mystery quilts now and LOVE LOVE LOVE them so I will hop in with both feet.
I'd love to participate. I won't be doing Christmas colors. I'm thinking purple, blue, yellow, and ?? Suggestions are welcome.
I think starting after the new year would be good, but I'd love a tease so I can be thinking/preparing between Christmas and New Years.
As for the needle on the airplane question, taking a needle on the plane is no problem. According to the security rules (linked from airline's websites), scissors can go on so long as less than 4" in length. Just to be sure I would be less likely to lose my scissors, I got a small pair of scissors with rounded tips for air travel. It's given me hours of pleasure and a sense of accomplishment for all that time sitting there with nothing to do! Of course, in cramped quarters, it's important to take small projects.
I can't wait! Well, I can. I need to get other stuff done. I'll be looking forward to it.

As always I am in whatever you do! Glad you had a good trip to Paris and that your creative juices are ever flowing!
I'm ready now. I started the Christmas Lights mystery so already have my Christmas fabric sorted and all strung out over my sewing room. Two birds with one stone! Who ever has enough Christmas quilts? Not me.
The sooner the better! Can't wait!!!
Next time tell the maintenance people to put up a page stating
MAINTENANCE WORK
sure would save tons of email landing.
Glad you're home safe and sound and that you had FUN>

I love the idea of a Christmas mystery! It will take me that long just to get it finished.
Yes, Yes, Yes! Thanks for the fun!
I'm game! I've never participated in one of your mysteries, but I would love to.
Just finished Christmas Lights (LOVE IT) and was wondering what I was going to do with all the Christmas Fabric I still have. I'm in!!!! Have you noticed the more scraps you use the more scraps you make. My pile never seems to go down.
I'm game and I think I like: blues/browns/golds/neutrals
I am new to your blog. Do you post the mystery quilt instructions so that anyone can join in? Or do you have to sign up? How long will it take? I'd like to give it a try.
Welcome home Bonnie, and I am ready for a new mystery by you. I would like a teaser for after Christmas and we could catch the Christmas Fabric bargains. I would like to do it as a New Year's Day Mystery.
You are just too good to us and I have been wishing for a new design from you.
Jeane
Glad that you are home safe and sound. I am ready to play along with another mystery quilt. Just need to decide on the colors.
I have been hoping you would start another mystery. YEAH!! Bring it on. I'll sew it anytime and thanks for those different color combos. Gives me more to think about. Ready...Set...!

oh GOODY a mystery that is planned around using shirts!!! I'm game! I'll start pulling out red ones soon.
I'm just getting my "Christmas Lights" blocks put together - my first ever set on point with setting triangles and really not nearly as bad as I thought it would be ;) I'm loving how it's turning out!
Yes, anytime you want to start the next mystery Bonnie, we'll all be right there with you! :)
Welcome back home & Love from Texas! ~bonnie
Glad you got home safe and sound. It sounds as if you had a great time with Will and in Montmartre fabric shopping. How was the pain au chocolat lecture?
Fun! I'm in. Your quilts are always wonderful so do whatever you want! Can't wait!
Purple/green/gold/neutral - sounds great!
And I agree with Louise SS:"Your quilts are always wonderful so do whatever you want!"
I'm looking forward to it.

Welcome home - we missed you!
I am game. And into next year sounds fine to me.
I've never done one but I'm game. Glad you are back; been missing your blog.
I think this is great. I'm wanting to use my stash this year. So I'm in.
You bet I am on, I always change color pallets, so no problem for me!
I'm in! When do we start?
Hope your trip was wonderful :-)
I'm game - the sooner the better! It's turned to winter here on the coast - the more quilts the better!
doni @ Oregon coast
I am in - the sooner the better! I hope to use some non-christmas fabrics from my stash though, but I am sure your design will accommodate any color combo and look beautiful! Thanks for - once again - taking the time & effort to do a blog mystery!!!
I'm always ready to start something new! I would probably go for a burgundy/sage green/gold combo, but I've already started 2 tops with those colors...how about pink/green/brown combo? Decisions, decisions... :)
Oh yeah another mystery :0),
I'd vote to do it over the holidays....I never met a Bonnie Hunter mystery I didn't LOVE.
Happy Sewing
