The Mystery Is Solved!
This is Step 6 of the Orange Crush Mystery......come sew and play!
My original plan was to use plain borders, but you know what? I had extra split four patch units! I'd been building more as leaders and enders and I thought it would be fun to use them in the border.
I also cleared out a bunch of red fabrics with a barnyard theme from the "get rid of it NOW" stash! I've got hoffman chickens and turkeys, (does the fact that it's 'hoffman' make it any LESS ugly?*LOL*)I've got cows jumping over moons (And I'm happy to say that other than scraps, this fabric is now ALL gone!) and I've got a 1990's vintage ducks and cattails! The best part is that they are now OUT of the stash. Hallelujia!
I've just got the binding left to do...more orange for the binding..whoowhoo!
I'm headed to Greenville SC tomorrow for a lecture/trunkshow and a workshop there. I'll be home Saturday night if I can get out of there in good time to make it home that evening.
I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the huge group hug regarding Heather's birthday. It means more than you can know. Thank you all.

I love it Bonnie, thanks so much for leading this mystery for us in the midst of so many things in your life.

I can't wait to go home now and put mine together! I LOVE it!
Gorgeous! And you quilted it too. You are an amazing woman!

Turned out great! Very fun. And since I love orange...
bonnie, we lost a baby in our family as well, newborn Nathan, lived just 23 hours; my nephew...at christmas too, was awful and still feel the pangs of that heart earthquake as you do i imagine. only his parents got to hold/see him, but he was still a part of our family....as my brother says, it's a hurt that never really goes away...it seems those losses don't spare anyone...

Beautiful Orange Crush quilt! I love the colors and how it came together!
Sensational quilt. I can't decide what I like more--the visual complexity and secondary patterns, or just the orange you used. Love it!
Wow, I love this color combination, Bonnie. How fabulous! It is so exciting.
I love the finished product...have been watching as Sue put hers together....maybe another time I can join in ....Maine

The quilt is beautiful...love the quilting. Have a safe trip!
Thanks for such a wonderful quilt. I hope to get mine together tomorrow and then start on that pieced border. That just sets off the quilt so well.
Had to make the Pecan Cheesecake Pie. Absolutely divine. We've made two of them so far. It's definitely a keeper

Bonnie, This is a great quilt, and I REALLY LOVE that fabulous pieced back. Pieced backs are one of my favorite things and I especially like the way you did this one--it's even more fun than if you'd cut the fabrics into equal pieces. Glad you had such a good time in Greenville; SC is home to my father's side of my family, and I especially love that part of the state.
Best, Nancy Ray
