3am Hot Flash.....

I don't recommend piecing at 3am on a regular basis! Believe me, it will make you a zombie for the rest of the day, and you'll end up taking 2 naps to catch up on sleep, and that will throw the NEXT night's sleep off kilter too!

This little ditty measures about 38X42. Fun working with the solid strings. I want to play with more :c)

I leave in the morning for Woodbridge VA! Getting excited here. We've had this trip planned for a long time. The weather here has been gorgeous, much cooler than last week and I hope it will continue up through VA. The trunkshow is already in the car. I just need to pack my clothes, load my own sewing stuff for in the hotel...and vroom vroom I'm off!

you weren't joking when you said you'd get started at the wee hours in the am! and you are right about catching up on sleep - that part is hard to for me... I made the mistake of stayin up all night before Father's Day last weekend and have been paying for it ever since! But life goes on.. ready or not. :P

Love your "Hot Flash" another wild and crazy sting quilt... what a great way to capture a hotflash! :P

Love from Texas! ~bonnie

I LOVE the new string quilt! I may have to borrow that idea, as I've been looking for the perfect Amish, yet funky, quilt idea for DH's Aunt & Uncle. I think every quilt I've gifted so far has been one of your patterns! :)

Now GO GET SOME SLEEP!!! ~Jessica

It's really pretty, Bonnie. Kind of reminds me of some of the quilts I saw at the Gee's Bend exhibit when I visited Boston.

And the name of the quilt? Insomnia?

It's worth some nap time the next day. It's really great.

Siobhan has taken the words out of my mouth. It's awesome.

Sympathise with the flushes. Been there, still there and bleuch!

Wow. I'm not usually a fan of solids but I *love* this top! (It wouldn't have looked that good if *I* had done it at 3 a.m.!!)

I am not a big fan of solids, but I like how this looks. I may have to try it (if I live long enough). I like your new picture in your profile section.

Welcome to my sleeping schedule !
10 years of working nights does this to a human being. No hot flashes yet so, you have my sympathies.
Love the stings

I was also going to mention Gee's Bend, but Joanna beat me to it. There is a lot of energy in that little quilt. I had forgotten how much I liked the Amish look of solids. Beautiful.

I love the bright colors in this quilt. I love all fabrics, but lately I have fallen in love with solids. That middle block is the best.

I'm lost of words, cannot believe the energy and creativity you've got! I like your work so much, and right now I have started on you Blue Heaven. I hope to get it done as soon as possible, but I not as fast as you work, lol! :-) Love your website, too.

Having had many, many hot flashes, I understand. I also understand that the pattern of the quilt was dictated by the hot flash. I wonder how many of the antique quilts we admire were hot flash quilts.

This quilt speaks to me! Big fan of color and solids!

Long time reader, first time commenter. Really enjoy your blog! Have even started a Scrappy Bargello.

Love it!!!!

It's so Amish and yet, so NOT!

The tiny one for Tonya is wonderful too. I love all your string quilts too -- your Atomic Orange star inspired me to make a slightly calmer version in blues and browns. :-)
