Thanks so much for all the encouragment on my "wrong" (or different) spinning blocks!
I ended up setting the blocks as is, bordering them with leftover plaids...and will use the remaining blocks in a completely different quilt.I want to toy with different lay outs, maybe add a different design element and see what it looks like.
This turned out to be a good twin size...and it will be a nice lay on the couch size too. I'm happy with it!
You can tell from the close up pics that I used a lot of OLD lights in this quilt. There are cutesy hearts and chickens and music notes and a whole variety of old old calico prints as well as all the plaids.
Some of these fabrics are at least 20 years old!
All the light 2.5" squares for the digaonal corners came from the 2.5" square bin, and because I double sewed all the corners, I now have a gadzillion little 1/2 square triangles to square up and sew into some cute little blocks down the road.
I'm off to work...got massage clients lined up til about 4pm this afternoon.

I think this is my favorite quilt of yours. I just love it...The patchwork and the stars, even the scrappy border. This quilt was just meant to keep someone warm...

bonnie, another beautiful quilt...sounds like you keeping busy for sure...the other day found a piece left over from my DD's very first dress at age 3 weeks, and she is now 33! once a fabriholic, always a fabriholic i guess...
Another wonderful quilt Bonnie, you do such amazing work, and so fast! How fun to have used up some of the oldies from the stash, isn't it amazing how we fall out of love with fabrics after a time.

Brilliant - I really love this pattern - have done since I first discovered your quilt website nut I must admit I had my doubts when I saw the blocks on their own. However I should have trusted you because altogether the plaids make it the most gorgeous version yet of this pattern - another winner Yay!!!

I was at the HeartStrings WI/MN sew-in yesterday and the discussion of how old our stashes are came up. I've been quilting for less than 7 years and never sewed before that so my stash is fairly *young* compared to others.
I'm not usually a plaid-y person but this quit is just gorgeous, begging to be snuggled under.I like the orange and turquoise bits in the border. They add a nice spark.

Love the quilt! It turned out beautiful. I recognize some of the fabrics in your blocks when I clicked on the picture to see a closer up view! I have some of them in my stash too LOL. I've been 'saving' those leftover triangles too. I sew them together using them as leader/enders and trim them with Eleanor Burn's ruler...the one you trim before opening up the triangles. Works great...only one side to trim.
