Up With the Early Birdies....

I'm up early...4:30 am....flutters,you know? I've separated the quilts I'm taking for the trunk show/lecture into categories.... by strip size, by technique..whether it was leaders/enders or not...even Oscar thinks it is way too early for this kind of activity!

I've got sample blocks, a few unquilted tops (for fun....people need to know that even "pros" have tops that sit around for eons!)

I've pulled my favorite tools that make scrap quilting easy for me...

I've had a cup of tea and a slice of banana bread and it's not even 6 am yet!

Most of all...pulling out all this stuff and how I plan to explain it to people gets my juices flowing on why I love this whole quilting thing so much! When you prepare to "uncover" your passion about anything to a bunch of strangers, who hopefully have the same love and drive you do.....it just reaffirms that "Yes! This is who I am! this is what I love to do, and this is why I love to do it!"

My finale is the orphan block quilt with "Bonnie Loves To Play With Blocks" border. It's still in the hand quilting phase too, but it is a culmination of every technique I'll be talking about, so I think it is a good one to end on.

I've also got tickets for the raffle quilt...I sold $60 worth last night at my guild meeting in Aiken. That's not bad for a small guild meeting. I hope it does really well because 100% of the proceeds are going to local agencies...the homeless shelters, housing, child care, etc. It's a big "feel good" and help the community project.

I'm going to set up with pay pal to be able to sell tickets for it off my website and blog too.....That's on the agenda within the next couple of weeks.

Okay..here I go...time to shower!

Wish I lived closer to where you are presenting your program. It sounds fabulous, Bonnie! Absolutely love your blog and website. Thanks for inspiring me to create!

I KNOW you will do just great - your enthusiasm comes out in your work, and your program will better than your web site, or your blog, or your photos. Your spirit is contagious!

Oh you will do wonderful! And I"m so jealous that they get to hear you talk and see your quilts! I wish we lived closer so we could book you! Heck maybe I'll just come and play at your house!

I haven't had time to read any blogs since the beginning of the month, so it was really fun to see all the pics of the quilts you've put on since then, beautiful work! I got a chuckle out of your cats, too- very cute!

If you are half as good as your quilt instructions, you'll be terrific! I wish I could be there to hear and see it. Have fun.

Your enthusiasm is infectious... you'll bowl them over, I have no doubt! Best wishes, it will all go extremely well. Do you ever do programs near Winston-Salem?

Love the picture of Oscar -- so expressive.

By the time I read this, your presentation was long done, but I know it was good! Why? Because you are passionate about quilting and you willingly share your knowledge with others. That is a guarantee of success!! Wish I'd been there!!

Ms. Goodneedle beat me to the punch, darn it, as I was reading your post, I too was thinking how nice it would be to be able to see you and your beautiful quilt collection. I haven't been in our guild long enough to "ask" favors, but if you do come this far I'm sure we could talk to someone and see what we can do. I think it would be great to meet you also.
Hope all went well as I am sure it did.

How nice to be able to share your enthusiasm with kindred spirits,
I know you'll inspire everyone. Coming to Australia any time soon? Keryn and I and Tassie would be there with bells on!
