Did you ever have a moment like this? Ive been chainpiecing scrappy blue hourglass blocks.....took my long chain to the ironing board....and lo, and behold..this block's seam had THREE layers instead of 2! I guess this is what happens when I'm still chain piecing past midnight :c)
As for what I'm making? I'm not tellin! :c) You'll have to wait and see! I pulled out all the blue and neutral 2.5" strips into two piles and I've got PLANS!!

Well goodness, Bonnie! If there's anyone who can make something out of a threesome like that...it's YOU! ;-)
Can't wait to see what you've got up your sleeve! Looks patriotic....
Have done this several times. LOL
And it is so boring to unrip it.
I am so curios what you are going to do with them.
I'm glad it was just one block, not the whole pile!
Oh yes, LOL, been there, done that..but with just a single triangle flapping away inbetween the two I joined up...*G*
I look forward to seeing what you are up to..*VBS*
The surprises are always wonderful. Hugs, Finn
Nice new background! Great to see that I'm not the only one who ends up in situations like that! Can't wait to see what you're doing with those scraps!!
Oh nooooo. Could you starch them and make them into Christmas ornaments? Wo what are you making with the blue and cream scraps??? hehe
gotta love those extras that get picked up while chaining... I don't have to wait til midnight to start having that problem :-)
Oh Bonnie, you're such a tease... can't wait to see your newest creation! :)
Bonnie, maybe you have developed some 3-D sort of quilting with the three layers. You may have just stumbled on the future of quilting. Imagine the fun of having putting more layers together : )
Ooops! But great to see you are stitching up a storm again :)
Ha! I'm with Naomi, I can do this when I'm not tired!!!
Can't wait to see what comes of it. Any old thing in blue and white is good!!
Yes, I have done that and it's quite irritating! vbg
My guess on the scraps -- something patriotic?!
So you thought you were different, huh! I've done it, too, more often than I care to admit.
And I agree with Jan, anything blue and white has got to be good.
That is an interesting dilemma. How did you solve it?
Now you can decide which combo you like better!
I often sew the long side instead of the short side of a rectangle, or something like that. I like the blue and cream combinations. The one on the leader ender page took my breath away!
So are you keeping it like that and making it into some cool 3D block in the middle of the quilt? :)
Been there, done that! Once I had to uncrochet one meter of a crocheted border (3 inch wide) because I had made a mistake.
My grandmother thought I was crazy, though......

Whatever those little piles become, it sounds intriguing! I love the way your mind works in that you can come up with all these patterns. Keep 'em coming!
Just don't sew anything that isn't supposed to be in there.
Can't wait to see the next wonderful idea , Bonnie. Hmmm, I have about 60 6 in. 9-patches, and I was planning to put an hourglass between them ... maybe I'l wait to see what your project turns into.
