Anything I don't know, and am able to learn, is interesting to me!!
I use Paula Deen's baked bean recipe whenever I make baked beans and her recipe uses maply syrup. Now I know why the little bottle is so expensive!
Thanks again,
Roberta Breuer
- give the baked beans recipe a try - here's the recipe:

1 large onion, diced
2 (16-ounce) cans pork and beans
3 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup light brown sugar
4 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 pound bacon strips, cut into 1/2-inch pieces

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a Dutch oven, mix onion, pork and beans, mustard, maple syrup, light brown sugar, ketchup, and lemon juice. Top with the bacon pieces. Bake, covered, for 45 to 60 minutes.Roberta Breuerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06450882628507177745noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13569819.post-31251006118505590462014-10-05T08:20:32.917-04:002014-10-05T08:20:32.917-04:00I always thought that maple syrup came from Canada...I always thought that maple syrup came from Canada - I learn something new every day - thanks for the info :)Lesley Gilberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12391675183992422658noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13569819.post-31664200100492518482014-10-05T07:24:22.064-04:002014-10-05T07:24:22.064-04:00true, once you taste real maple syrup, that fake s...true, once you taste real maple syrup, that fake stuff is history....we always keep it on hand...cityquilter gracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16769584628450845408noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13569819.post-85680354906475552472014-10-04T17:42:29.738-04:002014-10-04T17:42:29.738-04:00The reason the light was the highest grade was bec...The reason the light was the highest grade was because the New England colonists were using it as a general purpose sweetner, and thus didn't want the maple flavor.
