It's collecting dust right now, next to my BabyLock serger while I sew on a newer computerized Singer. The old Singer clamps down tightly to my fabric which is not necessarily good when you're trying to quilt.SandyPAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04206615238407476036noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13569819.post-45478393830906000742012-02-26T13:58:29.556-05:002012-02-26T13:58:29.556-05:00O my! It needs a good helping of maintenance however, as the upper tension will not stay as I want it. Maybe the spring inside is old and saggy too, after 37 yrs. Its not pink however, but yellowish. From the brown / purple / orange / yellow seventies. Those were the days....
Will never sell my Singer as I want this first love to stay =^}
Love your posts, IreneIrene Onderweegshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04203549705147874055noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13569819.post-23127193043334766052012-02-26T11:41:32.186-05:002012-02-26T11:41:32.186-05:00Funny, Bonnie, I get dingy when I spend too much t...Funny, Bonnie, I get dingy when I spend too much time awake at a retreats. I don't think they are meant to be like the slumber parties I had as a teenager. I hope the you get home safe and with your pretty machine intact. All that "packing material" will help, I'm sure. Do you read all these books or just download them and keep them for reading later? I've heard it is faster to read on a Nook and Kindle. I think my OLD singer has a place for the cams too.Maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06156858742587928699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13569819.post-52338617652533321212012-02-26T11:22:45.813-05:002012-02-26T11:22:45.813-05:00You could pass on this info to the pink Singer own...You could pass on this info to the pink Singer owner. There are two Yahoo groups where she could check for info and cams for her machine. They are wefixit and vintagesingers. Both groups have tons of info.
This book does sound good. Better go check it now. Bought the machine new when I was 17 and recently replaced it now that I am retired. Can't find any info on the internet about whether the cams would fit the "pink" Singer. My cams are black discs with an opening in the center, and drop in the top of my Singer. I don't see such a space on the pink so I don't know if they are the same.

I still use my Singer for binding but if the cams are interchangeable, I will send them as I have never used them.
