Hi guys! I'm home!
And no, this was not my view last evening - but it WAS the view this morning as the sun came up over the ridge and let me know that blue sky and sunshine does happen!
We arrived in New York on Sunday afternoon.
By the time we went through customs and gathered our luggage, waving good bye to folks who had become family over the past 10 days...wandering off to catch our next flights, or an Uber, or in my case - taking the air train to where I would jump into a hotel shuttle, it was nearly 4:30pm.
By the time I'd checked into my hotel, made it up to my room and unloaded my stuff, it was close to 5:30pm.
I had already made plans to turn off notifications on my phone after letting family know I was back and safe. I set my alarm for 3am so I could get up, shower, dress, repack and make it downstairs in time to catch the 3:45am shuttle back to JFK for my 6am flight.
Let's just say by the time my feet hit Tri Cities, TN airport and we made our way back to Mouth of Wilson I was exhausted.
And here's a bit of what we were driving through:
Oh, but isn't it so pretty!
First stop - checking in on the December Quiltvillians!
They've had quite a week with our winter weather!
These photos were taken by Tracy who even took on the job of cat cafe manager while I was gone. She kept the kitties fed, petted and watered. Thank you, Tracy!
I don't have info on these quilts so if you know, leave it in the comments below!
This one we do know!
Pine Tree Point top over the rail!
Fun sampler and a delightful pink string star!
Yellow Brick Road (unknown star quilt) and Fandango!
Old Town top finish!
Cute for Christmas!
Another fantastic star Christmas top!
Great idea for orphan blocks - a patchwork tote!
Tracy took this photo of the porch lights at night. I think the retreat house can be seen from space. LOL!
Arriving at the driveway.
So much snow had fallen from the time Dave left home to come get me at the airport!
That hairpin curve that the top?
We almost didn't make it - even in his 4wd pickup with chains!
My lilac bushes are covered!
At this point the Subaru is parked down at the bottom and the pickup is at the top and we've got the RZR doing its thing.
This morning before the sun rose -
Won't be sitting out here for a while!
When it comes to my fabric world - it ALL sparks joy!

That is the best news a Mother could ever hear! Over the course of a year my daughter went through chemo, surgery, and radiation for breast cancer. Her recent follow up scans show that she is now cancer free so I completely understand how you feel.

Fingers crossed, wishing you and Jason (and the people plowing your roads -- or is that your family too???) all the best. And of course those who mind (your typos) either don't know what's happening, or don't matter..and those who matter, don't mind.

I am so so so happy to hear the news about Jason. The news is the best news ever. Merry Christmas gift for all of the family to enjoy. I am so happy Jason is coming home for Christmas. That, too, is the best gift ever.
I love the quilts over the rail. Did you ever find out the name of the sampler quilt that the young lady standing next to the string star quilt? The quilts are all so beautiful. I took a real liking to the sampler quilt and would like to know the name.
I wish you and the family a very Merry Christmas. I'm sure I'll be sending wishes to you again. Spending time with your little red headed grandson will be such fun. To me Christmas just isn't the same without the youngun's.
