Binding is done, (Hooray!) Hanging sleeve stitching down in progress.
Trifecta of Godfather movies endured. I'm so glad that money and power and prestige and mob activities are not part of my daily life. I'm a firm believe in keep it simple, and just keep me entertained with fabric and possibilities.
Piles and stacks in charcoal, light grey, neutral and some yellow/gold still taking over my sewing desk.
What am I up to?
For more than a decade now I've saved photos of tile floors from my travels - All kinds of tile floors. From Ireland to Scotland. England to Italy. Poland to Vietnam. Spain. Everywhere.
Big tile pieces. Small tile pieces. Earthy colors. Deep rich tones.
Geometric patterns not hard to execute with patchwork.
Always pleasing to the eye -
And I'm planning on combining ideas into some mosaic designs of my own using a minimum of shapes. Simple shapes. Blocks repeated to create secondary designs...
And all the while trying to figure out the best way to press things.,
I love patchwork that interlocks with nested seams - but I could always take the easy way out and just say "press everything open" and then no one would have to worry about which way to press this or that. But that's not the way I roll.
I love seams that nest and lock in like legos.
So I'll continue to play for a while yet before I show you where things are headed.
Yummies are happening in the Quiltville Inn kitchen!
And projects are ramping up!
Some biggie-sized Silk Path blocks are happening here!
Oooh pretty!
The makings of Indigo Way border triangles - great colors!
Some hexagon handwork to become the front of a zipper bag -
Watermelon summer fun!
And yes - I did get out for a bit yesterday.

It was a beautiful morning!
Hot and sweaty, but so great to be out.
Today's plan - heading to Wilkesboro with friends this afternoon for an outdoor concert! I'm super excited.
Let's hope the rain holds off. Also. That it cools down a bit by this evening - it's supposed to be about 90 down off this mountain, and that's only a 45 minute drive away. That's about a projected 12 degree difference between up here vs.down there.
But - it's a fun way to enjoy late summer, and we're doing it!
The pattern release of Eclipsed has been absolutely phenomenal! Thank you!
The one thing I've had emails on is folks outside of the USA having trouble with the Buy Now button as it uses autofill and as they are international, they then get a message saying that we don't ship outside of the USA.
PDF patterns are not shipped. There is no problem if you simply add the item to the shopping cart, then click to the shopping cart and choose either your PayPal or Credit Card option. It should process just fine from there. It has something to do with purchasing digital files with the BUY NOW button if you are international.
Do not use the Buy Now button. Add the item to your cart and then click the cart and check out the normal way.
Sorry for the headache - but give this a try and see if it works for you.
Also - if you've downloaded and can't find where your PDF went on your device - do a SEARCH by pattern name. Most of my issues come from iPhone/iPad users who don't know where to look.
How to find a PDF on an iPhone in Files.
The broadest place to look for your PDF is in the Files app. You’ll be able to find it there if it’s on your iPhone.
Open the Files app.
Tap Browse > On My iPhone.
Search your folders for the PDF.
It’s very likely that the PDF ended up in the Downloads folder, so search there first.
How to search for PDF files on an iPhone.
Using the search function on your iPhone might be one of the simplest ways to find the PDF that you’ve downloaded. Here are the steps for using the search function:
I'll be drawing for 2 winners who will also receive a Facets of Black fabric Roll fromCotton to Quilts. And yes - they have other color rolls perfectly suited to enhance your scrap stash for Eclipsed too:
Beautiful purples, oranges and yellows! I love the variety that color rolls give to my quilts.
We'll draw for our winners on Thursday, August 29th! Good luck, everyone!
Of course, Eclipsed has an introductory price already marked 25% off and good through 8/31/24. Hurry now and save!

Quiltville Quote of the Day -
Sometimes, the things we put off don't seem as big or bad if we just get in and get started. What project have you been putting off? Happy weekend, everyone!
Happy Caturday! Yay for finishing the binding & sleeve. I love everything and anything Halloween 🎃. Coming soon. Lovely projects being made there. My kitty is currently sleeping. Well my queue is empty. No binding no quilting to do. No UFO'S. Time to start something new. Have fun at the concert. Have a great weekend and Blessings 💞
Thunder Storms and Rain in our forecast. Enjoy the Concert. I am waiting for the Martina McBride concert the week before Labor Day. Fair week! 48 years ago we had our first date at the Fair in my hometown. Feeling nostalgic.
Oh, some cute things happening with this group! What a beautiful, peaceful place to center yourself! We had Def Leopard & Journey in San Antonio last night. We talked briefly about going, but with it being the week that school ramps back up decided not to. I guess grocery shopping is on tap for today; hopefully I can get back to my Chilhowie this weekend. I am expanding it to a king size so I needed to make a few more blocks. It's definitely the dog days of summer here; it's going to be in the 100's all week here in South Central Texas. Stay cool & enjoy your evening out! Happy quilting everyone!
Sadly, I started a longarm project last night (mistake #1, starting at 9pm!) without checking my tension first. Same thread as the previous quilt, but not the same batting. Pick. Pick. Pick. Only (!*^%$@!) a quarter row. I WILL get it done and replaced this morning.
Believe it or not, I don’t have any projects that I’m putting off. Tumelo Trail was the one I was procrastinating on. Those tiny 9 patches were too much, so I altered it and used some solid blocks in their place on one of the diagonals, and I love it! It is not a top, waiting on the longarm to get up and running. However, I am REALLY excited to see where you are going with this new quilt!!! I have a collection of grays and I love that color combo. Plus, I have also been looking back over floor and wall tile patterns that I have saved, wondering what I can do with them. I hope your ideas spark some ideas of my own…or I may take the lazy way out, and just buy your pattern when you publish it! Have a wonderful day and enjoy the concert! Thanks for sharing your life with us!
I thought that I was done drooling yesterday but, thank you Bonnie, you posted Gorgeous photos of church flooring!! I am trying so hard to refrain from pulling out the graph paper and letting my pencils " get busy!" ;)
"just keep me entertained with fabric and possibilities"- you are teaching me different ways to approach quilts Bonnie Hunter! I was a "finished view in mind" girl, but I may be stretching my wings to fly a bit freer! Today is cutting for my time at the Inn, and then playing with some blocks and see what I can do with them!
The funny thing is I am hunkering down and trying to get my Chilhowie quilt top done also. I've chosen Blue, Yellow, Purple and White/ Neutral as my colors. Hope to be able to show it done soon. Lots of Love from NC.
