Hard Exit Drawing Time!

Hard Exit is available now in both paperback and hardback, and also on Kindle.

You all know my friend Bruce Leonard as the author of the Quilt City Hadley Carroll mysteries.  The ones with the cozy (if murders can be considered cozy!) mysteries happening around Paducah, Kentucky and all involve quilting as a theme.

You might not know that he also writes other genres - and since we all have a wide variety of things we like to read, I'm helping Bruce promote his newest release Hard Exit - which became available on Amazon last week!

Today I'm drawing for 3 winners who will each receive a signed paperback copy of Hard Exit directly from Bruce!

If you weren't lucky enough to be one of our winners - head on over to Amazon where you will find Hard Exit in paperback, hardback and Kindle!

Synopsis:

Jack Drake shares a Malibu beach mansion with a gorgeous movie star but hates his life. The depressed private eye can't shake the death of his wife and can’t end his toxic relationship with Hollywood heartthrob Amanda Bigelow.

But an at-risk sixteen-year-old who is injured in an inner-city shooting gets Jack unstuck. As a favor to a friend, Jack sequesters Game in the mansion, keeping him safe.

Their worldviews differ, but they draw from their histories of loss and grief while investigating the shooting and three seemingly unrelated murders, tying Game’s world in downtrodden Oakville to Jack’s in idyllic Malibu.

Fans of wisecracking investigators such as Spenser, Kinsey Milhone, and Stephanie Plum will cheer for Jack Drake, a man in love with two women—one of them dead.

                                            Cover Blurb

“This is a smart, edgy, state-of-the-art L.A. noire with heart. Jack Drake is a private eye with grit, a few demons and a semi-glamorous life on the beach in Malibu. This series is a terrific addition to the modern hard-boiled genre.”

—New York Times bestselling author Jayne Ann Krentz

Hard Exit shows such promise as a hit that it is Bruce's first book being offered in hard cover as well as paperback and Kindle.

Binding going on!

More night time hand sewing ahead -

Nemeshe's Feather Grande by Bethanne Nemesh as the quilting.

Binding while dealing with colonoscopy prep last night.

And also at 4:30am this morning with round 2 of prep.

As this posts I'm headed over the hospital for what will hopefully be a very uneventful routine colonoscopy.

No one likes to think about it, never mind talking about it - but it's important.  Have you scheduled yours yet?

And yes - mammogram is coming up soon, too.

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

This about says it all for this morning. ⁣
We will reevaluate after I've had solid food this afternoon.

Have a wonderful Wednesday, everyone!

Congratulations to the 3 Ladies!!
Thank you Bonnie for all you do for us. We love you and appreciate you.
Have Dave take you out for breakfast afterwards.
I have to piece a backing for Triple Treat, the last quilt in the quilting queue. That's what I'm doing today.
Oh, winding bobbins for the long arm too.
Have a great day and blessings 🙏💞

Been there, done that several times! Hope it goes well today. The dreaded prep is the worst part, I think. Treat yourselves to something you love afterward. You've earned it! 💗

Congrats to the Winners. Quilty content is good! Wishing you the best. What will you eat first? Need to see my eye Dr today. Old eyes are changing. Self-care is important.

thinking about alternate blocks to go with spinning rails in a "spicy" color theme. then will be pressing and cutting strips as I start packing for a really fun retreat in for me- the far away state of Virginia!

My experience is that the colonoscopy prep is the worst part. The actual procedure has you sedated and you're not aware of the process. Hope the outcome is good!

So some how I missed my mammogram last November (grandbaby being born... I know what's more important!) so clinic contacted me to hurry and get it done... so I called to make an appointment (in May mind you) and the first appointment available.... the middle of October! lol... good thing there are any problems. Have a great day everyone!

Congratulations to the lucky ladies! I hope it's good... he's a pretty good writer. Bonnie, I just want to thank you for reminding us to take care of ourselves health wise. I know some things can be unpleasant... but they have to get done so we can keep on making these beautiful quilts!! Loving the binding on the Diamond Tile. It's a great choice. But then again I just love that whole project! No sewing for me... today was the 4 words I'm sure most educators shudder at.... 1st day of school!! Once again I am wondering what I got myself into!! HAHA!! Hoping once school gets under way things iron out a bit. I hope you got a nice healthy breakfast after you got finished with your procedure... & that you get good results! Happy quilting!

I'm from a large family, all of us siblings text when we've had colonoscopy; since one sibling had colon cancer and she didn't recognize the symptoms.
