Family Through The Weekend!

Somehow we fit it all in.

I had both of my sons - and grandson time - and Hubster Dave's 64th birthday - and plenty of workshop time with the Richmond Express gals all through the weekend.

I am exhausted.  But SO HAPPY!

Casden and Jeff came up on Saturday afternoon to hang out with Jason and we had a family dinner - cooked on the blackstone and Casden got to spend the night with us, which was so wonderful.

Tablet artwork - mirrored to the TV so we could watch his drawing in progress. (The "Dude!" and "Bruh!" crack me up!)

There was time for tree swinging at the inn!

Never too old or too big for tree swinging!

Oops, he blinked!

But all of those big teeth are coming in.  So cute!

Chef's on the deck!

64 looks good on you!

Mom and sons.

The men in my life -

And the whole family!

I need longer arms to fit everyone in.

Maybe a selfie stick?

Dinner in Elkin happened last night and we returned Casden back home.  Ashlyn's birthday was Friday, Dave's was Saturday so we have a tradition of dinner out close to both birthdays to celebrate.

Jason is really good with photography - here's a couple he took of those who did NOT get to come to dinner:

Mabel Mae!

Zoey Jo!

(She looks so fierce! LOL!)

Meanwhile at the inn - Blocks were coming together!

Emerald City  from String Frenzy looks wonderful in Kaffe!

And always great in green.

Turning some oops units into an amazing alternate center star!

Amethyst!

(And a placemat from the free tutorial found under the Free Patterns tab.)

The the pops of aqua/turquoise in these units!

All coming together!

So here is the rundown for this week.

I pushed the pattern release of Big String Quartet until tomorrow.  I chose to spend more time with my family over the weekend.  So TOMORROW it is. Introductory pricing, and a gift-away!

Wednesday I'll be posting the over the porch rail photos that we took on Saturday while the weather was cooperative.

Irene's Sewciologists also arrive on Wednesday.  Busy busy week ahead, but we'll do it.

What do you have planned for this week?

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

I admit I am sometimes guilty of expecting perfection from myself.
Strive for good. Strive for wonderful. Strive for better than last time.⁣
The demand for perfection in ourselves and from others is a joy crusher.

Have a marvelous Monday, everyone!

Such fun to have ALL your family there! Quilting projects can certainly be done another day. I like seeing Emerald City in other colorways. And that Kaffe!!!

Yep perfection is way overrated and yes you nailed it " joy crusher" I'll take the joy of quilting over the need for perfection any day!! Family time=priceless. Your little grand has the same bright red hair as my grand! Just beautiful :0)

selfie stick is good for looking at behind self such as the heel skin crack that is painful or looking on top of curtain rod and don't do ladders anymore, or under the quilt on the frame to check if bobbin is working correctly.

Thank you Bee Bus! This is why I love reading this blog and the comments! Both Bonnie and her readers have great ideas to share! Yours about uses for a selfie stick are fantastic! I always wished I had a hand mirror on a stick to see those places you mentioned,. Ya know the kind that border patrol uses to look under cars...but no amount of duck tape gets a hand mirror attached to a broom stick at the correct angle.
I did try that once (trying to look under the quilt frame to check the quality of bobbin thread stitches). This works much better. LOL
