Seeing Stars!

It seems like things come together all at once here.

And while it may appear to be a "Wow! You are so fast!" kind of thing - I assure you, this has been on  the "weekend project" burner for months now.

It was just a sit-and-sew-strings kind of thing when I had some evening or weekend time.

And whoosh - those last few rows came together rather quickly and the top was done!

Last seam going in!

Wow. It got big!

The top and bottom edges will be trimmed straight before  quilting. As it stands now, it is 80-something X 90-something, so a pretty good size.

I'm thinking scrappy blue binding.

Hundreds of fabrics - and so many pieces!

It dances!  And I love it!

Light blues for a scrappy backing -

I got as far as pulling some yardage -

I ironed one piece -

And decided that the day was too nice outside so I shut that iron down and took myself on a Roundhouse Road hike.  More on that to come -

As for now - this is calling my name!

If I can get that back pieced, I can get it loaded into the machine today and start on the quilting.

I will be searching for the right pattern.

And I am searching for the right name as well.

I also finished the pattern writing for Sugar Grove - Lola swears it passes the snuggleability test!

Be watching for that release and gift-away to happen Friday!

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Oh, this is a good one!
I love things that make me think.
Texas Tumbleweed quilt from my book More Adventures with Leaders & Enders available in the Quiltville Store.

Have a happy springy Tuesday, everyone!

Bonnie, you must be from the same school of thought as Mary Ellen Hopkins, “you can sit in my quilt”! I was surprised to see you standing on your quilt with sneakers! 😂. MEH would say when she dies her kids will sell your quilts for the prize of a lift ticket. 😂😂 KarenZimmerman

Instead of reading "Have a Happy Springy Tuesday" my brain read Have a Happy Stringy Tuesday! Either works. LOL

I LOVE your “Dancing Stars” 🤭. I started out trying to make a Sugar Grove quilt and got 4 blocks sewn correctly then went “brain dead” and sewed the next 24 blocks with the colors going in the wrong direction! Wasn’t going to pick those out so they ended up a nice baby quilt. Will try again. Wish you could do a video of how you load your quilts on the longarm. It really wouldn’t have to be a “live” video.❤️. I absolutely LOVE all your quilts and want to make them all! Have a GREAT day!

You're on a roll. Pretty stars sew scrapilicious! Glad you got out. I have too. It's baseball season! And Tennis! If I could get to Wyoming it would be soccer and track. Gotta work on a pink one for a sweetie there. Going in May to meet her. Too far away to go today! Happy Tuesday

Hi Bonnie, I hope you will publish a pattern for this. I would love to see the back of a block to see how you managed the seams. I want to try making this quilt. Also, where do you get such a variety of neutrals? I need to look for neutrals. Thank you for being such an inspiration. I read your blog everyday.

Beautiful Jewel quilt. I thought since you made the jewels, it should be called Lab Created Jewel

Another scrappy beauty! I absolutely love it, and the cute picture of Lola curled up in your lap. I imagine it makes binding a bit difficult! Yet another great quote as well!

Your quote made me think of this one by Henry Ford — 'If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got.'

Since the strings look like they go round and round and we know you love to walk RoundHouse Road-name it RoundHouse Road Stars!

My first thought upon seeing your lovely quilt was "roses in snow". I guess it's just the way the strings remind me of petals unfurled. May also because my Lenten rose is often blooming in the snow. Beautiful quilt. Thanks so much for sharing your time & talent.
