We were ready - Just in time!
Somehow it all came together!
The inn looking and feeling quite festive if I do say so myself!
It's amazing what a few runners, wall hangings, pillows and cute décor can do to cheer up a place, evecn when there isn't an official Christmas tree.
Here I've laid out two buffalo plaid table runners, and centered my Pine Tree Point runner in the middle.
I am happy that everything will be enjoyed by the December Quiltvillians, and when they head for home on December 7th, these things can come home to the cabin to spend Christmas with us.
It's quite festive if I do say so myself!
You can barely see the large Pine Tree Point quilt hanging in the Hen Den beyond.
As I look around I see other favorite pieces that I received as gifts from friends.
This topper was made by Karen and has lived on my kitchen island the last many Christmases - it's perfect here on the treat table right outside the Quilting Quarters -
The table top actually fits a featherweight, was made on top of vintage treadle irons. It was a gift from Beth, made by her hubby. It's close to the sewing room so if I want to pull it in and sew with a group, I can.
But I'd have to move all of the snacks first!
Cherry Crunch is hanging in the foyer!
I didn't finish this one in time to make the PDF pattern available before the holidays (plus we are running a mystery on top of everything else!) so be watching for this one to release in January 2022.
Yes, that neutral background is string pieced!
So many fun fabrics in here - and it will be perfect for Valentine's Day!
Remember this topper from June??
I made this from Pat Sloan's recent Holiday Celebrations book during her blog hop. Those beavers crack me up!
The poinsettias were brought in by Quiltvillians! They add just the right touch to the front foyer.
Crack up of the day!
Joann is the group mom for this group and she thought during the craziness of mystery season that i could use some helpful life-changing advice. LOL!
Yesterday's to-do focus was "mostly" finished. I got graphics drawn and some step out photos taken, and photos edited before the Quiltvillians began to arrive.
I didn't get as far as I would have liked to, but there was decorating to finish (Will get a photo of the yo-yo garland on the bannister today!) and beds to be made, and once folks started arriving it began to feel like a party with the holiday music playing from the sound bar - and.....well, you know!
The plan is to finish everything today so it is ready for tomorrow's release by dinner time.

It's this time of year that I start thinking about my word of focus for the next year.
In difficult situations, I find it a bit hard to remain steadfast to see me through.
With another Covid variant in the USA my family is reevaluating holiday plans. It's so easy to want to say "The heck with it!" And go anyway.
But when "WHO Recommends People 60 and Over to Reconsider Travel Amid Omicron Variant" and it hits me that I fall into that category because I'm turning 60 in a few weeks - I know I need to stay home.
I will wait for a better time to hug family I haven't been with in two years.
I think I found my word STEADFAST.
This is where my thoughts are this morning. Boosters in line for next week.
Have a great Thursday, everyone -

My word isn't a word but a letter D (donate, declutter, downsize, destash) I have more than enough and do not want to leave behind a mess for someone else to clean up
If we'd all known at the beginning of Covid just how relentless this would be -- I wonder if people would have taken it more seriously & taken advantage of the shots = saving lives and avoided the eternal variants? We have continued to quarantine even though we've had the shots & boosters...and while its not the 'retirement plan' we'd dreamed of, at least we're alive & well & so is our family. My word for 2022 is 'blessings' - as I choose to be thankful for the good in all our lives, and to remember to 'pass it on' to others whenever possible.
My word is Stay...Safe, Home, Kind, Humble and on the Rhododendron Trail! Or is it trial?
As the daughter of parents who lived in the same house for 45 years and, while they weren't hoarders, they kept way too much, I'll thank you on behalf of the family you will leave behind to deal with it all. My dad died almost 2 years ago and I'm still in his home trying to deal with the overwhelming task.
Traveling is definetely more challenging. I keep my fingers crossed that my kids will both be able to travel on the 24th. They both will need to make new appointments to have a test done the day before and not three days before. We will travel early January. Most likely I will choose another of your mystery project from a year past to sew if I have to be in quarantine for 10 days. We travel for a month, but it will mean fewer days to see people and ten days to see just the appartment...
Such festive additions to the Quiltville Inn. You inspired me to change the Quilts on the bed to my Christmas Celtic Solstice and I found my other Quilts and throws for the Living Room. All decked out, Tree is next week. Outside the Lights brightly shine, I love when the neighborhood has lights. It gets dark so early. Ready for part 2! Clearing out a few scraps while I wait and stitching Christmas fabric hsts.
Thanks, Bonnie, you've got me thinking about the year to come and my focus. Meantime, good Christmas cheer to you and those Quiltvillians!
Thank you, Bonnie, my order arrived quickly. I've always looked at that mousepad and had wanted it all year, decided to go for it and treat myself finally. your words and pictures were so inspiring today, especially the strings table topper. I don't know why I haven't made placemats with all the scraps I have.
And PS, I love the IronEZ, use it all the time, and the seat cushion is the better than all the rest combined!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for sharing Christmas At The Inn with all of us. it has gotten me in the spirit to get decorating here. You are truly an inspiration to us!
I agree completely. When we moved out of the house we lived in for 40 years and moved her 11 years ago. I did all of the D's. It was uplifting to get it gone. I even had all of the toys from my first children. They are 47 and 49. Now I find that I have just as much collected again so need to do the D's again. It will be easier this time.
Came home from a Quilt Retreat in Texas where I finshed En Provence and posted it on Quiltville Open Studio. My dear friend who cleans my house every two weeks had decorated my tree that I had at least put up before I left. It made me so happy!!! Friends are so great to have.
As I turn 72 in 2 weeks, I worry too and still take precautions. Surgery in jan. And heart tests coming up. We haven't seen one set of grandkids since before covid
I Love Your letter "D"D it fits me to a "T". I need to do them all. Since I moved around so much, many times w/ little or no warning, I have accumulated "Stuff" for 40 plus years. I do not want my house to look like a Hoarder, let a lone leave a mess for someone to cleanup But, I find it hard to let go of things. I may just need that, or this will make a good seeding garden. HELP, I NEED Help, but not someone to just copme in and sweep it all out to door!

Where it is -3 outside, and time to go to bed.
Yes we are blessed. Health family nearby and plenty of fabric to stay busy!
The flowers pictured at the blog opening brig joy to my heart every time I open the page. Thank you so much for having them there.Things are very brown and grey at this time of year, and these flowers are a reminder that spring will come again, and all the lovely colour will return. Thanks Bonnie.
Same here, except still dealing with occasional fits of pique at non-vaxxers et al. We only have so much time in our retirement that I sometimes resent having lost two whole years because we still haven't managed to stem the disease. Feeling grateful for my continued good health and passing on kind acts help with my fits of petulance, but still!
I am thinking maybe the word Grateful. The word would be reminder to thank those around me for their help and encouragement. It has been a little more than a year since my mother passed of liver cancer. Oct 2 my best friend, who was 41, was diagnosed with cancer and passed on Nov 4th. If it were not for the reality of heaven, God's peace, and friends encouragement, I may not have made it through these dark days. Talking to, sewing for, and working on projects together with friends has helped me greatly. I want them to know that I am Grateful for their friendship and help.
