How does one nearly 60-year-old girl end up with nearly 14,000 steps by the end of the day?
She spends the day with the Stitch Mob, celebrating Jessica's birthday and more!
The last two arrivals came in after I was already home for the night - so there were two new faces to greet when I walked through the door.
And Karen was already sewing away like a crazy woman on a mission -
Any guesses what these are??
Her Tulip Time quilt is coming right along!
Next to it on the design wall is Jessica's Blue Ridge Beauty from Adventures with Leaders & Enders!
We had to nearly pull Karen away from her project to go out and hike up Round House Road!
These four are dynamos! They are definitely going to keep me stuck to my goal of doing at least 3 good hikes a week.
(We need to with all of the good food these retreats are serving!)
Piece out, ladies!
(Yes that Piece/peace is intentional!)
Whew!
A very special birthday presentation!

Seeing these wonderful friendships and connections between quilty friends on a daily basis restores my soul in humanity, and I'm not lying.
There is SO MUCH awful in the world right now - so much division. But not here. Not within these walls. Not between these wonderful women.
Happy Birthday, Jessica! So happy we get to celebrate all week with you!
I had a bunch of desk work to do.
It didn't get done.
I felt just like Lola!
I did get that cutting table finally cleared off.
Blues folded and ready to put away.
(Aren't they pretty? I could feel another SQUIRREL moment coming on!)
It was after 7pm by the time I rolled on in home - The Hubster had come at 5pm to mow the lawn and make everything pretty.
The ladies were sitting down to dinner - and I was done in at 14,000 steps.
However - I'm raring to go again this morning! Another hike? You betcha!

I printed my block quarter templates on Carol Doak’s Foundation Paper.
Are you excited to dive in??
I hope you have some quilty fun lined up for your Friday - I know I need to get to that desk work today, but will also be spending as much time as I can with the Stitch Mob on retreat.

Vintage bow tie quilt top from my collection.

Thank you for the uplifting post this morning! What a lovely video and that heart quilt is so beautiful... warm fuzzies for everyone! Let's all try to be good friends like that!
With all the ugly going on in the world, finding peace within ones self and community is a needed balm for our souls. Yes Lola has the right idea--sometimes we need to learn to hit the pause button.
aha, good morning... i'm back! Hard drive crash and non-techie about cell phone has prevented my daily attendance at the Quips & Snips. While i didn't win the latest Road to Grayson, i HAVE purchased and printed my PDF files... now, to be a good girl and CHECK my rulers to see if i already have a 45*... i'm suspecting I do... What did i get from Bonnie (thank you as always) this morning??? She has the talent to have done and confesses all the vagaries of producing quilts... the latest (surprise? no) she is finding ideas and quilt-starts from 12 years ago... do you know dear heart that absolves me of a huge "crime"??? All those patterns and fabrics and wanna do? Again, thanks for your contribution to MY life... I don't know how i managed three weeks without your daily encouragement, gratitude, prayers and blessings from Cats in Carlsbad CA
What fun you have with all these groups!
and say Happy Birthday to Jessica!!! Love you Jess!!!
Thanks for sharing the gifting to her. Keep on hiking! Congrats to the winner. The blues are calling me too. Watching to see what comes.
Bonnie It warms my heart and brings tears to my eyes to see the camaraderie that you foster and nurture at Quiltville Inn. God bless you for the person that you are and for what you stand for.
Thank you Bonnie, it's so wonderful to feel the love of women friends and so uplifting during these troubled times! Our sisters add so much to the joy of life. And welcome back Cats! It's not the same without you!
So much inspiration comes from your posts Bonnie !!!
Happy Birthday to Jessica. The quilt is beautiful.
I had wondered where you got to Cats in Carlsbad. Glad all is good.
Such a lovely post! And it looks like Lola is channeling Pickles from twitter.
Love kitty's quilt, so simple and straightforward, and scrappy!

Thanks, Alycia! Miss you!
