Judy's Stitchers may have left on Monday - but echoes of their laughter and visions of their quilty productivity still remain in my mind!
My yesterday was a whirlwind of getting things ready for the Pieceful Hearts who are arriving this afternoon - and not much sewing happened as I spent MORE time working on tomorrow's Rockabilly Swing PDF pattern release than I had anticipated -
And when I feel bogged down, all I need to do is look at all of the design wall goodness that continually happens with retreats, and it puts me right back into my happy place!
There was much Grassy Creek assembly going on - I love how this photo looks like Grassy Creek is taking over the whole room! It's actually blocks from different makers!

And I hope these gals are bringing LOADS to sew as it looks like rain is in the forecast for the rest of the week through Tuesday when they leave:
Well okay then! We can handle this - no problem! It might mean no hiking to see ponies, but we have each other, machines, fabric, good food, good friends, good fun!

OK Fine! I just had a knee replacement yesterday. Now I'm drooling over all this fun and I won't be in the studio for at least 6 weeks! Keep it up girls. I'm gonna need a LOT of eye candy😀

That fish was in the middle of changing direction to swin back the other way. That forecast looks like mine, more sewing, not so much outdoor time.

Rain makes the flowers and the Grass grow. It's dry in the West, send some our way. Getting back to my quilty self. Gotta play in some fabrics today!

Every year I save the instructions for the Leader Ender Challenge and every year, no blocks get made. This year is no different as I'm focused on doing Winter Blues for a Christmas present (Plan B is his birthday in January and Plan C is Valentine's Day). I'm also slowly turning scraps into the Scrap Users system. Right now I'm just sorting my scraps (anything smaller than a FQ) by color. Then it'll be going through each color and sorting by strip size. And I think Bitcoin is the perfect project to use scraps that haven't already been cut into strips - at least some of them. Strange how I have multiple hunks of the same fabric! LOL!

I had a knee replacement in March 2020, just before Covid struck. 7 days later I was in my quilting room. I sewed for limited time each day, but I did it.
Here in Central Illinois we would love to send you in the west some of our rain! It rained most of the night here. The colors on that Allietare are so happy on a rainy dreary day! Everything in the pics today makes me smile. I gotta get started on my fishies!

Pretty much the same forecast here in Topeka, KS. It does make for good sewing weather. I'm always sew inspired from the pics of quilts that you share. I look forward each day to seeing what's happening in your neck of the woods.
Please, please send some of that rain to the midwest!
With my first knee replacement, I had to spend ten days in rehab. I prepared by filling shopping bags with cutting board, rotary cutter, fabric, etc. I also had other bags with books. I numbered the bags and as I finished one, I would have my husband bring up the next. One of my friends still talks about coming to visit me and laughing when she saw me sitting up in bed cutting a quilt. It killed the boredom and really was very productive. One of the aides got me a second bed tray so I didn't have to move aside my projects when meals were delivered. Rather a painful way to get a retreat, but it got me through.
When I had my right knee replaced, I learned to use my left foot to use the pedal with. I wasn't as quick, but I was able to sew. I would have been bored to pieces if I couldn't have been in the sewing room.
Your weather forecast sounds like what we've been having the last week or 2!! Today is the first day in a while that we haven't had any rain falling yet. Although I am not complaining, it has kept the temps down about 10 degrees!! But we do need a chance to dry out. As far as quilty things going, I am starting a new Happily Scrappily Irish in greens for a customer who wants it by Christmas! I think I can get it done by then. We are going back to school and work soon. How did 2 months go by so quickly?! Though I did get my main goal accomplished which was to clean my sewing area!
I am absolutely loving the new Rockabilly Swing and how it turned out. Also the new Fish School blocks are cute too! Thanks for continuing to inspire every day! Happy quilting! :)
