Take a look at these goodies!
This is what you’ll find in the August 2019 Quilty Box, and ooohhhhh…the new NAVY Olfa Rotary Cutter had me squealing (Now I’ve got one for travel AND for the QPO.) and that fabric begged to be touched right away -
But what I loved the most was the image of Patrick on the front of the Bundles of Inspiration Magazine – Patrick and his wife are the driving force behind Quilty Box, keeping all of the goodies you love and long for coming to your mail box each and every month. Their sweet baby joined them just this year and it has been fun to watch her grow month by month.
Here are some highlights to keep in mind:
- Quilty Box is a monthly subscription box of fun quilting supplies. We offer plans from $44-48/mo.
- 5% of the profits of multi-month subscriptions are donated to Quilts for Kids - a non-profit which donates quilts for children in need
- Each month we have 4 or more products (fabric, patterns, thread, or notions)
- Our retail value of the products in the box is always more than $60
- We will be using the hashtags #QuiltyBox and #GetQuilty

And the Binding Binge Continues -
But really??? On the FIRST CORNER?!
LOL! As I said – I’ve got MILES of binding to stitch – and that makes me happy. I love curling up in my comfy chair with my feet up, endless hours of chick flick movies on Netflix – that’s what weekends are made for!
Quiltville Quote of the Day
Oh, I’m lucky enough to be quilting, and I know how lucky that is!
Have a wonderful Saturday, folks!

Bonnie, when I read that you were watching Republic of Doyle, it made me grin, because I binged on that when I was doing a bunch of sewing two weeks ago. Now I've moved on to "Last Tango in Halifax." Check it out (on Netflix) if you need something new to watch!
Yes, Lucky you to get to stay home and bind while you watch Chick Flicks. I enjoyed my Binding binge last week prepping for Fair. Hand binding is so relaxing and the best way to have a sit down job. All my entries are in, along with 2 of the 3 Granddaughters Quilts. Now we wait for the Judging results. Fun, Weekend next Saturday, I'm already excited for them to come and see. I love the True Blue Olfa cutter. I got both of them, Splash and the Ergonomic.
My binding tip for avoiding seams at the corners: I press my binding join seams open and do not trim the dog ears. Then I lay out the quilt on the bed and place the binding around the perimeter, folding it at the corners to create the miters. I check where the dog ears fall and adjust the binding placement accordingly. Then I pin the starting point, around 10” from the beginning tail and start stitching from there. I trim the dog ears as I come to them. Saves a lot of frustration! Love you, Bonnie! Thanks for all you do for us! Quilt on!
I threw caution to the wind and didn't audition smawdition and made it all the way around with no problems. thanks!
All too soon the weather will turn chilly and rainy, and you and your miles of binding will have a standing date for quiet, cozy evenings this fall. Sounds lovely! And we're enjoying the posts on the new finishes as they happen. Win-win!
I can't start a day without my Bonnie fix! Thank you for all you give to the world.
I do so much enjoy your patterns and your trips make me what to be able to travel too.
I just couldn't understand how "Claudius" could fall for such an unpleasant woman, so I was never able to suspend my disbelief long enough to enjoy that Tango show.
I had that seam-in-the-corner happen twice with my last quilt, and decided to just go with it this time (I didn't notice it happening until it was too late to resew the binding). It wasn't as horrible as I imagined it would be, thank goodness!
Sometimes I have trouble sleeping and wait with bated breath for 1:30 am to arrive (this is when Quiltville's Quips land in my inbox). It it the second thing I read, right after Our Daily Bread. How appropriate, the two things that start my day off to a marvelous start. Thanks Bonnie some days you are my lifeline
Great tip! Thanks!
My eyes aren't that good, but I take your word on the snails!
What a delightful news letter as always Happy Joyful Sunday
Yes, on the binding corner! I have encountered that.... always makes me wonder if I should .... never mind.
Thank you for the opportunity to win a cute wonderful box
I did exactly the same thing on my first placemat binding yesterday. And I had just barely enough binding strip to complete them. (big sigh) I love the "lucky enough" thought. I am "lucky enough" :-)
Love the tip Bonnie and your patterns.
I painted the shelf units in my sewing room a nice glossy navy blue...is it de ja vu You gifting a navy blue rotary cutter in this months gift box? It is destined by the heavens I’m sure, just as sure there is a 🌜 and ✨🌟✨ in the navy blue nighttime sky that I shall win this months gorgeous box. And, yes, I know entries are done within the blue box above.
Thanks for all you do Bonnie and also for the chance to win this quilty box. The 29th is my birthday so maybe I'll be lucky.
Adorable fabric!!!
