The First Snow Day Sew Day of Autumn!

20181014_103008

If you had told me day before yesterday that yesterday would be full of fluffy white stuff, i would have replied “Oh certainly – CERTAINLY NOT!”

But you can’t fool mother nature!

However, we can point out that she is a bit confused at the moment!

And evidently, I am too – because I’m out it in short sleeves (but just for a moment – just for this photo!)

It sure is pretty though, isn’t it?

We filled our room to full up at 40 quilters -

Everyone was geared up to be making Roll,Roll Cotton Boll from String Fling!

The Iowa Contingency is a force to be reckoned with!

And I love that they brought me a shirt from Lou Ann’s Quilt Garden in Oelwein so that I could join in on the quilt-gang fun, too!

Great job, everyone!

The snow had stopped falling by the time we were packing up, but temps were hovering at 32 degrees so that snow was going nowhere.

I peeked out the window as soon as it was light this morning – Nope.  It’s still there.  SIGH.  I have this feeling it’s going to be a very long long winter ahead!

On the upside – that leaves room for LOADS of Snow Day Sew Days!

Today – LAST workshop of this 6 workshop, 4 lecture run through Nebraska.  Guild presentation tonight, and one more tomorrow morning and this big visit is in the books!

And it really has been such a fun trip.  I’ve enjoyed meeting folks I hadn’t met before, and reconnecting with those whom I’ve seen on previous quilt trips.

Thanks for making everything such a memorable experience, Nebraska peeps!

We had snow here as in Minnesota as well. Considering we had a snow fall less than 6 months ago, I just can't get all excited about it. Need to quilt more!

Oh no. I grew up in Iowa with snow. It's pretty but treacherous to drive in. Living on a farm made all chores more difficult but we had fun playing in it and snow sledding!!

No snow yet in NW Oregon, but we had our first freeze warnings. Winter is on its way.

We have a saying in Nebraska: "If you don't like the weather, just wait 10 minutes." This week is forecasted to be beautiful dry, in the upper 50's fall weather. You never know what might happen this time of year:) Thanks for coming to NE. We loved having you, and you are welcome any time!!!

Live in Idaho, and yes we do get some snow in the winters... Always get so excited about the first one. It makes everything look new and beautiful. (And it's a perfect reason to stay in the sewing room and play all day he he he.) Before the snow is done in the spring we are all ready for it to go away. I love having 4 seasons.
